This should be standard on all vans.

Interesting that they fit imperial valves on the continent :)

We only have plastic valves on ours but mounted inside, except the grey waste which a stupidly designed gate valve activated by a long cable that was very reluctant to close and impossible to change cable without major dismantling underneath

I do wish more thought was given to how things would be changed as and when needed

Ditto! A tap at the end of the grey water pipe would fix he problem, bug further reduce the ground clearance. I carry a grey water container to put underneath.

This is the closed position @funflair it snaps back into that potion when parked up. It then snaps out to the driving position, it must be different to yours?
It was in the driving position that the pheasant hit and twisted so had to dismantle to undue the nut.
Same as ours Paul, you know the whole mirror comes off if you give it a good upward thump with the heel of your hand. Or it should anyway.

Oh yes where do you think I get my spares from;) It's on a tapered slideway that makes with the electrical contacts at the same time.

The thread is about quality of fittings and comparing the materials on this van to the plastic beer barrel taps on the last one, a world of difference.
Build quality is everything on motorhomes, if build quality is not discussed then people wouldn't know what to look for, just the same as discussing sidewall/roof construction etc which is related to damp problems.

eBay Germany occasionally turns one up. But as someone has already mentioned, Hella have them in their catalogue. Also suppliers for bus parts have them, however often in 24V only. Last resort Southdowns. Not much change from £500.

Quality is one thing. Practicality is another:
There should be two waste outlets, one to either side. It would require two valves, of course, but would make dumping easier when the drain is awkwardly placed.

Every van we have had has come with a 2 m extention hose but on the current van that would mean getting out of the cab when dumping, simply not on chaps :)

Did you eat the pheasant for your troubles (Roadkill).;)

No, it was decapitated, we usually eat them though, lovely roasted with some bacon draped over whilst cooking.

New meaning to headless Chickens! I wouldn't worry about the head though.

Oh NO don't tell this lot that they knock off, all the jokers at rallies and thieves will have a field day!!!!
Mine is the same on my Carthago but has the big square blind spot mirrors in it. I suppose that will be even more money. The same fitting on coaches, I repair and paint them for a local coach company, he buys them on E Bay when he sees them cheap, his drivers are always clumping them on walls and trees, they are the big gull wing type. HOW MUCH??
