This is not ??? It is Spain

No wonder the spaghetti westerns were made there and some of Game of Thrones. Looking forward to cruising around Spain away from the coast when our camper van arrives here in France. Only 1 hour from the border past Perpignan. Apart from that I have only skied the Sierra Nevada on a package holiday in 1975

Good post jumartoo

The only photo I can name is the fishing village of Cuidillero in Asturias.

Where are the other locations?

Not got locations for all of them and some are my guesses.

The "not Germany" one is said to be the Alkasar at Segovia.
The "not Switzerland" is the Spanish Pyrenees
Hawaii - Cantabria
USA - my guess Ordesa National Park
Morocco - Almeria?
Australia - Laguna Rosa, Torrevieja
Japan - Mt Teide?
Italy - Asturias
Maldives - Formentara
Kenya - Doñana
Canada - Agiüestortes National Park
Iceland ?
Brazil - Fragas do Eume, Galicia?
Chile - Bardenas Reales, Navarra?

Reminds me of the TV and magazine advertising campaign by the Spanish Tourist Board many moons ago. They showed a variety of lovely scenic places and festivals under the slogan "If you think you know Spain, think again" I quoted it to my hubby when I fancied taking the motorhome there for a tour and he didn't fancy "all those high rise hotels & packed beaches" Since then we've had some great tours & really love all the mountainous regions.

There certainly is a heck if a lot more to Spain than Beni etc, some of the inland areas are stunning and had the weather been better in Dec-Feb we'd have ventured in but below freezing isn't my idea of fun.

Brilliant pictures, and doing the job as seen them on other (non MH) pages too.

Would love to know where they all are!

We've been "through" Spain a couple of times very very early on our travels and mostly only saw the sort of places we would not go back to! Joys of being novice travellers at the time. Just not been back as too many other places to see - but we will - and look forward to it.

Thanks for posting. Very informative.

We have toured Spain a lot. Since buying a house there, even more. It’s a stunning country, 2nd most mountainous in Europe ?.

We have simply pointed at a map and said, let’s go there. Or got the co-ordinates wrong and ended up with a surprise spot.

Some Spanish people don’t even know the places when we tell them where we have been.

Part of my Spanish lessons are that I have to explain what can be found where. For example, what regions in Spain do bears still inhabit!.

Hopefully going to move there soon and explore more.

where ever you are anywhere just avoid motorways and main roads .
my dad asked me and my brother to direct him across spain right back in the early 60,s only using minor roads. it was great fun then and still is today.
even driving along the coasts take every road to the sea then turn left or right depending on which direction you want to head.
get off ferry at santander head south east . when you hit the med turn right and follow the sea round spain and portugal and spain back to santander. great drive.
