This gives us a bad name.

A few years ago we parked on an Aire adjacent to the village market place.

The Aire was separated from the market place by a low wall with an opening displaying a sign clearly saying “Camping Cars only, no other vehicles allowed.”

On market day we walked into the market, intending to leave the Aire at about noon.

On returning the Aire was jammed with cars one of which was parked on the borne blocking access to water and was parked directly over the manhole cover for black waste.

I was all for emptying my, by then, full cassette over his bonnet to reinforce the point made by the clear signage. My other, and better, half felt that would be excessive. Shame!

Tried that on a CAMPSITE came back and some German Van had parked where we had been and was using our power cable, chairs and step. Thought that they were provided by the Campsite. I was not amused.
That happened to us in France. We came back and a German van was parked on our pitch eating dinner. Guess what happened next. ..............they apologised profusely, moved and came back with Schnapps. We had a wonderful time.

That happens quite a bit ...cars parking in the dedicated motorhome spots or blocking services

That's a really odd thing to do!

I regularly leave levelling ramps, the step and the kids bikes to save our spot when we go out - but only on a paying campsite, I'd never do it anywhere else!

If it's a bigger, more commercial site (which we tend to avoid most times) I'll lock the bikes together, otherwise I don't bother. Nothing is worth much and nothing has gone missing yet, said he tempting fate...…

I've got a little traffic cone with a "<Registration> Motorhome parking here" label around it, left in the van by the previous owners, which they used to keep a pitch whilst they were out - but again only on campsites. I should take it out really, I never use it, ramps, step and bikes do the job!
