Thinking of Full timings - worried I'll be bored!!

When we retired after a while, we wondered how we had time to work!

I’ve been full timing since April and love it. Although a member of both major clubs I greatly prefer wild camping and just use sites when the facilities are needed. Luckily my friend Andrew lets me stay on his farm with mains hook up and fresh water for as long as I wish for no charge other than occasionally helping with odd jobs. So far I’ve driven 2,000 miles around Scotland and the north of England, plus 579 miles visiting Devon and Somerset. In this latter tour I used one free pub stopover, two sites and spent five days with a hippie couple on their smallholding for the cost of two bottles of wine.

We haven’t intentionally gone full time,it just kind of happened when we rented out our flats to look for a property in the south of France. That was at the end of July and we’re still here......although Jacques L’Escargot didn’t breakdown on purpose, having his fuel pump go in a supermarket car park wasn’t ideal it did mean we could stock up on wine and more wine.....before being towed to a mechanic who as it turned out couldn’t fix him! We’ve been stuck in the same place for two weeks waiting to get a garage to fit the pump has resulted in some local residents bringing us fresh produce from their ‘jardinieres’ as we’ve been using the time improving our French, while Loki the demented Dalmatian has been making friends with everyone as usual....so, no, with a dog you’ll never be bored!

Hi all

This is my first post - woop woop!
Just wanted to say what a great bunch you lot are...the advice and support on here is fantastic.
So here's my dilemma/question.
I've worked hard since an early age and am now sick to death of the daily grind. I'm single with no children, so no ties as such.
I have been full time for about 4 years since I have been single. Best thing I ever did. I rent my house and love being able to have summer all year. I think there are so many cool people living in vans now you always seem to meet up with like minded people. I spend a bit of time in Brighton as it is my home town. And go down south in winter. Quite a few full timers or semi full timers around. I think I would be a lot more bored if I was in house on my own. Same town same places same people. No not for me. I am sure you will have fun.

Que ? , not been on here for a year :)

Regarding my post above, Tim Davies has asked me to remove his phone number and postcode because he no longer wants to offer free or indeed any camping.
