Travelling down the A46 this morning, 1 lane closed for grass cutting, so driving reasonably slowly when a car about 4 in front of us suddenly stopped so we all slammed on our breaks but the weight of the Van meant I couldn’t slow down quickly enough. The car in front of us hit a lorry delivering caravans in front of him and well rear ended the car in front of us. Lucky we’re both OK which is the main thing but to add to our misery the first car just drove off.

Oh no, that's gutting and so easy to happen in a moment when you least expect it.
Thankfully no injuries, metal and plastic can be replaced
Hopefully you'll be able to get it fixed

Shame but you’re unharmed. Take time to make your decision. It can be fixed.
Just this morning on the way to visit my aging father on the A12, a moron overtook all the cars and tried to cut in at the last minute trying to push me into traffic on the left, I was in my car, and decided I to crash rather than let him push in. He ran into the bollards. Stupid, yes, but it felt good.

Just a tad..
You’re okay, that’s the only thing that matters!

Thankfully you were in a coach built Motorhome and not an A class as it could have been a very different outcome! ✔️

So sorry to hear this but glad you’re okay. There’s nothing that can’t be fixed, and hope your insurance company can put a very large bandaid plaster on it 😎

You can always replace a vehicle, you cant a life so look on the positive side if you have no injuries. Youve had a bad fright and experience but hopefully you will get another one soon.

Don't give up just because of an accident...that's what insurance is for. You had rotten luck but that shouldn't stop you enjoying your hobby.

I’m glad you’re both ok, that’s the main thing but it would be a shame if the accident put you off motorhoming.

Be wary of a potential (or belated) Crash-For-Cash scenario .... especially as (from your description) the lead car may have buggered off rather than hanging around to claim from those that hit him from the rear.

If nothing else, the lead car driver should have hung around to be breathalysed and document-checked.

It would also be a wise move to pre-notify the Police & Motorway Authorities to retain any & all possible CCTV of the events just in case it becomes relevant in the future.

☹️
