Am no even attempting to find silverscreens for this thing . New ones cost a fortune and second hand would be like hens teeth . Besides I'm not keen on them . Yes I know they help with condensation but so does staying out the UK over winter lol. ..I'd need to carry a big ladder to fit them .

Anyway moved on today , I dropped the tyre pressures yesterday to see what that was like and it definitely feels a bit better on bumpy roads etc but still pulling to one side. I've felt all the tyre tread and there is no sign if feathering etc either.

I would like to get the alignment checked but I'm having no luck whatsoever finding a garage to do it. I've phoned several more today again .

We are now in Arundel...parked up on Mill Road. Still loads of scruffy vans and caravans here. Some fulltimers really don't do us any favours as the vehicles look fit for a scrapyard and there's often loads of other crap lying around them. I'm genuinely surprised parking here is still possible. Anyhoo I'm at the very far end of the road. Planning to stay here till Thursday before I trundle down to Lenny HB driveway so I can get my eye test done on Friday.

If anyone knows any garages that can possibly look at this feel free to give me the numbers etc. The road surfaces are so different everywhere it's hard to tell if this has got any worse or not but some of the roads here were fine others were almost unbearable, I'd really like this sorted before I head over the water. But many places I've tried say they're too busy etc before you even mention the size of the van . It's a complete pain in the arse

Karcher window vac is my solution to windscreen condensation. I don't like silver screens either
Aye my window vac isn't a karcher model but mostly does OK....it doesn't like being used sideways though which can be a pain as it's the only way to clear some parts .

Tried them and got the usual euromaster response .. won't fit on their ramp. It seems no one does wheel alignment on the floor anymore.

I think Adams Morey at Portsmouth might be your best bet, not only do they have a Motorhome dept., they have a garage for trucks. There price might have you in tears but they are good.
If they are still doing it you might get a Fun 10% discount

This one is small company specialising in high performance tyres but very helpful and in the past have done Motorhomes manually outside.

Nope they can't do it either.

Honestly I can't believe how difficult it is to get anyone to work on a motorhome these days. I haven't even mentioned the size to most of them ,anything bigger than a transit van they just ain't interested

Tried Adams moray at Portsmouth they said they don't do anything tyre or alignment related.

They did recommend Horndean tyres though and they are the first place I've phoned who immediately said yes we can do that just bring it in . So I think I'll just head there tomorrow. They close 5.30 so too late to go today .

Hopefully they can sort it

If your over the water and want jobs doing and you willing to go to the wetzler area MW. Fahrzeugtechnik Shufflegrund .Mario the owner and the staff speak very good English and mostly only do motorhomes .you need to e mail and let them know what you want and book the job in they are Fiat professional but do Iveco Mercedes Man and do warranty work for many major manufactures if you go on there web site or watch the German TV you’ll be very impressed. I’ve been going over 20 years.👍

As previously advised. ;)

I mentioned previously that you need to get in touch with a mobile wheel alignment chap, who services HGVs.
They come to you with all the gear, and it's done at your location ..
...... but on the flat. 🤷 It's a no brainer Tam. Boll@cks to ATS, National Tyres and other national companies. Get your one man band operator who does HGVs on to the job.

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

Tried 2 mobile guys ...one quoted over £200 the other says can't do it 🤷‍♂️

Hopefully these guys in Portsmouth will sort it tomorrow as I'm sick to the back teeth of garages now.

I took our Morelo into IVECO main dealer for service and asked about tracking, they said they couldn't do it as the laser cameras or whatever they use can't see past the bodywork with the wheels being inside, I did persuade an independent that I often us for service work to do it with the "old school" frame on the wheels, other than that it would have been two nice straight fence rails up against the front tyres, my brother aligns a race car with string  (y)

You could just buy the material then go sweet talk Uncle Lenny as he's handy with a sewing machine!

We got some used A-class ones for our MH for £50, they're not for our specific make/model but I just adapted them slightly to fit pretty well perfectly, as we have a very long windscreen they leave a 6 inch gap at the bottom uncovered which isn't a bad thing as it allows the alarm LED to be seen outside. They are in 3 sections and Velcro together so we leave them like that, just hook the UK nearside over the door and the other side is held on the side window glass with suckers.

When you suggest to these new mechanics ( cough) that they do it on the ground the old way they nearly swallow their tongues.

Country has gone to shit

Just a thought re tracking.
I took our 4.5 t to the garage at Plymuff that MOT's the Council vans and lorries (as well as the local bus fleet)
They did the tracking on our Pilote Explorer?
They said they couldn't 'do' four wheel
No doubt there'll be the equivalent wherever you are

Four/six/eight wheeled Artic tractor units, and six/eight/ten wheeled rigids aren't "all wheel" tracked, so why does a four/six wheeled MH need to be "all wheel" tracked? 🤷‍♂️

Cheers,

Jock. :)
Personally I only want the front wheels tracked there's nowt wrong with the rear .
