The resurrection of Doc, bringing a 20 year old neismann Bischoff Flair back to life after 12 years off road.

Speaking of selling things, you might want to edit your profile to reflect your current carriage of choice?
I don't think I've got the model of van on my profile have I? I cannae see it lol.

The photo I'll change when I've got some nice ones of doc somewhere scenic.

Just booked my ferry ticket , cost me £8 more than if I'd booked it last week lol.

5th November I'm oota here.
Might spend a bit longer in France this trip weather depending as I'm not in a rush this year. Dogs are all sorted for morroc etc. Might visit a couple of the villages uncle lenny went to . Will see.
Hope the weather in France is better for you than it has been for us. Barely had a day without rain in the past two weeks.

We arrived back in France about an hour ago. currently in Gravelines and it’s absolute blue skies and quite warm at 16dgs, forecast same next 3 days then chance of rain sunday

Back in blighty monday evening 😟
Short trip Al….🤷🏼‍♂️

yes just a 5 weeker Gary so we can get 90 days in Spain/Portugal after the new year 👍
TBH we’ve been blessed with the weather, it’s been lovely i’d say 95% of the time being hot in Germany especially, Bruges last 2 days has been very sunny as well so can’t complain at all

Ah, my bad… I’d thought you’d only just went over…😆🤣😂

Slight change in subject but when you guys go away on these long journeys what do you do about insurance?
We are currently looking at going away for more than 31 days which appears to be the cut off point for the over 70's and the quotes are over a £1000. ok that is flying to the southern hemisphere but the limit of number of days is just bloody ridiculous.
Puts a bit of credence to they...whoever they are just want to stop us travelling.

Who ever designed this lock on the flair needs shooting… Tam has done his back in several times on it and I’ve just cracked my elbow on it…..😡😡🤬🤬🤬
Our Hymer Hab door lock is the same, it catches pockets, elbows or anything really at the right height!

We managed to get the generator dropped today .. thought we'd be able to just run it off a battery and fuel but for some reason it needs to be wired to the van .. but anyway stripped it out the casing , got spark plug out cleaned it and tested it for a spark and it's getting one.. the fuel pipe from carb though is knackered and pissin fuel out . We ran out of time so will test it again tomorrow with a new bit hose.

All the sound deadening foam was knackered and falling apart as is the airfilter . So I've ordered a kit off ebay , new plug, air filter , carburettor, fuel pipes etc and some new sound deadening. So I might be here another few days after the weekend .

Been thinking about it a lot today and I don't want the inconvenience of carrying 2 spare wheels . My garage would be ridiculous. So I will refitt one spare underneath and I'll advertise the other wheel and tyre.

We use the insurance that comes with our Lloyd's bank account cost for the 2 of us to extend to 45 days is £90 a year, 62 days £180 I think you can go up to 120 days.

Took Doc to have new boots fitted on the front today.

Then another drive up the a30 to give it a little run and bed in the new brake pads etc . I still have a little vibration from front lhs but I've no idea what it is . But will see how it goes when in constant use. I've checked everything I can and there's nowt obvious.

Otherwise it drives beautifully...its very smooth and very quiet compared to moby . I'm hoping to have remapp done in a couple of weeks once I've driven it a bit and I'm hoping that improves hill climbing and low gear performance as its not the quickest van around town .

It was much admired at the tyre fitters though.

Just smiffy took off the ball valve again and refitted it with a little ptf tape as we couldn't get it to stop seeping on the threads , seems OK just now so hopefully that's solved. I had a few other little jobs to sort on it today so by the time all that was done it was too late to tinker with the genny . Weather dependent we may get a look at it tomorrow but new plug etc won't arrive till Monday at least anyway.

I had some vibration in the spring on my transit based MH it was the wheel bearings. I knew the bearings were needing to be replaced as it came up on the previous years MOT. However I'm aware of your MOT so you might want to investigate them yourself.
Good look with it, the van looks mint.

Yes I've checked the bearings etc there's no movement or noise from them . There's nothing obvious with it I've checked everything I could . It pulls a little to left too if you let go wheel and wheel sits a little to left too so I suspect the tracking is perhaps out slightly. But I'll wait and see how it is when I've been driving it about for a good while and if still the same I'll get tracking checked before I head to France.
