To be honest, I preferred to stay and relax. After being robbed for thee worst, most expensive Fish & Chips at https://chipshed.co.uk/bourton £17.50 EACH

How much !!!!... try the chip shed (opposite the large grass area by the shops.. Wonderful

I totally agree about the lovely wardens at Bourton on the Water.

Another lovely CMC site with no facilities but fantastic wardens is Bromyard Downs. Excellent location if you like NT properties and walking.

How are they able to name it Burton on the water caravan park when it's 5 miles from Burton on the water ?? That's a long way to walk back after a pint or two.

Exactly, I've paid the £15 happily to park in the car park near the co-op for an overnighter because it was a 300 yard walk to the pub / restaurant and dander down the river and see the lovely town that evening and again the next morning.
The CAMC site does indeed look great value and lovely but it's 5 miles from the middle of Bourton itself and the wife would never manage that. I'd go there if it was a weekend or more, not for one night though.

Ah... maybe that is the answer why they so nice.. both mentioned are at no facilities sites so maybe they cheerful and happy cause they don't have to clean up other poeples shite and mess left in toilet blocks every day. (And you must agree there are some messy buggers out there who are quite happy to let others clean up after them.)

It was the same at Bromyard Downs CAMC site. Absolutely lovely wardens and no faculties. Like you say , probably why they are so cheerful !
