Amazing isn’t it . The lack of understanding of physics.
No it isn’t a boat or submarine, it’s a car 😆.
A car isn’t designed to be driven through a mass like that at high speeds and keep all that plastic trim attached.
In some cases the consequences can be horrific. The video of the poor chap cartwheeling off his motorbike was horrifying to watch . I felt sick seeing him do that . I really hope he’s ok . I’ve heard he has lost his leg but can’t find any evidence of this online . I hope it’s not true .
 
Water is 1 tonne per cubic meter, it's amazing how many go in at speed, the videos pop up on my 'for you' page, it must be hundreds of ruined engines by now

Years ago I used to drive offroad stuff (those high beaten looking things with large tires) and I remember that every beginner - including my self, naturally - felt the need to step on it when driving in deep water. Don't know what it is, but propably it's just the feeling you're going to get stuck because you don't see the surface you are driving on.

We live on top of a hill, but there is a slight depression in front of our house. When it seriously rains, the road, which is slightly sunken, floods, about 12 to 18 inches max. The local oiks take a fearsome delight in driving through at maximum speed, seting up a bow wave which dashes against our front door. How I wish some of them would loose powere and come to rest in the deepest part. "Can you help us mate?" "No, get s****Ed, get out and walk".
 
That ford at Rufford isn't far from me, you don't even have to go through it, the diversion isn't that much further 🤷‍♀️

But then I guess that spoils the fun;)

I don’t know the ford but I know Ollerton and Lowdham quite well….
i can’t imagine why folk go that route when the A614 and A616 is so much easier! 🙄

Years ago I had a 1948 MG Y model just started courting the future wife , saw this water crossing the road, regularly done that I said to her lift your feet as we went through water, she said why? She soon found out as the wood floor boards floated upwards !!
