That brown gunk in the cassette !

Use to use Blue.. and a stopped using it because of the gunk build up.. It has SLOWLY been reducing since I stopped using it.
Often we do not get a chance to empty daily, sometimes only get the chnce every two or three days when travelling in remote areas.. Perhaps that is the reason..
All the pre-owned vans we have had in the past have had the same in the pot though
So you think it's the blue chemicals that's actually causing it?

I've never used the stuff in any of my vans but I'm kind of glad I haven't if that's the case.

I thought the stuff was supposed to prevent any of those issues.

>> black dustbin bag

Well I'm impressed and as a matter of interest how do you know ?
No 'practical' experience as its hubby's job as he does the really, really stinky stuff, but it just seems logical to put it in a bag to stop you getting splashed.

I honestly do not know.. all I cann say is not using it seemed to have stopped any new build up and it has certainly reduced a little..

Of course, that could be coincidence ... could be I have been fortunate and found more regular dump spots, could be the water we have been getting has been fron areas that have softer water.. I really do not know
The problem is it is such a slow process both building up and reducing that it is virtually impossible to say

Look carefully at what the duck is shaking.

It's a tough life being a poo, nobody loves you, you stink and are unpleasant to be around, when once upon a time you were an intimate part of a bigger family:)

Well that seems to have killed the conversation?.

Used to use Blue,Pink ect but as it's rather warm here. It leaves black deposits floating in the rinse.

Just use cheap Eucalyptus Disinfectant in the flush.

When we got the van, stripped out cassette completely and tried to clean the timescale from bottom. A lot has come off But still a lot still there.

So do we use Bio tablets, Soda or something else. As we use the van everyday it would have to be something which would mix with, well other stuff.

Me no understand:-
This van we get the brown crud building up in the casstte, last van cassette stayed reasonably clean. Both used the same way, no chemicals as we had/have SOG's in both, emptied daily when practical.
The only difference is the last van had a bench loo this one has a swivel bowel. The cassette for the swivel bowel does appear to have a lot more ledges and bits of plastic for the crud to build up on, perhaps it doesn't rinse out as well.

Just taken the top off mine and jet washed the inside, not too bad as we use it for more than 6 months in a year.

We've only ever used bio liquid or tablet's since new 2 years ago and the inside is as new. Never had to do any special cleaning, just empty and rinse a couple of times. Never had any smells even when standing right over it when emptting.
