Tesco Sim Black Friday

Tesco have their unlimited SIM on promotion at £17.50 per month on a 24 month contract. No roaming fees fixed until 2026.
I’ve just got two sims for my wife and I and they discount by £1 a month on each sim so that reduces to £16.50 per month for each sim.
The salesman said that as the contract is 24 months the roaming is fixed for the contract length ( hopefully true) .
It works out much better than the now defunct Popit 100gb roaming.
The small print says two months roaming in a rolling 4 month period.
Hopefully having a sim each we could actually hotspot off each other every other month if we are roaming and stay under the limit.
Yes, did that and set up the APN all in UK. The router is now showing that it's on to the SFR network but no download speed so no apps work. Will keep trying.

Have had a Tesco Sim in my iPhone for around 30 months now, although the contract was for 24 months. Decided to let contract run past the 24 months as it was suggested that all new Tesco contracts would not have access to unlimited roaming (which mine had). However Tesco appears to have continued to give unlimited roaming on new contracts meantime.

During this time we have used my iPhone as a hotspot while touring around 7/8 countries for around 2 months plus each year. We link to our Smart TV and Firestick both with a VPN and use masses of data during our time away. Never once in all of our touring in any of the countries have we failed to get a signal/restriction or data limit that stopped us watching tv - and that included my wife hotspotting to my iphone or me using my iphone or iPad simultaneously.

I also have a Maxview roof mounted wifi aerial with internal router, for which I often purchased a local sim when travelling. We also have a Huawei Mifi unit which we used prior to the Maxview Unit. Neither are used now as a result of our use of the Tesco sim as mentioned previously.

Oops forgot to say my contract for unlimited data/ roaming, unlimited calls and unlimited texts is £17.50/ month, and yes, I think like yours, my contract conditions continue after my contract period ended - hence my reason for letting it run on. If I upgrade or change contract etc, then it is a new set of conditions which then apply.

My tesco sim has been working quite happily in a Verison mifi unit for almost two years, both here and abroad. Just bought a Mercusys MB110 which is mains powered (9v DC through an adapter) and has cable connections as well as wireless, plugged the Tesco sim card in last week and works fine - also has two aerial connections on the back (I run through an outside antenna as I'm in a poor reception area), Less than £40 from Amazon

SUCCESS. problem solved. I found that the £30 payment for data was used by my dear grandson whilst staying with us before we left. So having no rocket pack meant no internet access. Now resolved with the help of a real person from Tesco customer care at 6pm on a Sunday night. They even put 30Gb data on my account for free. Good signal here in Saintes.
Thanks for all your comments and advice. Mea culpa in the end.

Update: successfully using a Tesco PAYG sim in my ZTF 5002 router having set it up in a mobile phone. The Tesco device checker didn't recognise the IMEI number but it works. APN also set up ready for EU. Looks like I've cracked it. Goodbye Popit.
had the same issue in a netgear MR router .. worked for a day ish till i suppose they/network worked out the sim was in a router and not a phone
