Second Chance Animal Rescue Southampton
sdorntpeoSf9h r1ua897Yfl:u23a6 d6tg94tia2015e825m2my5g3se881 ·We were contacted on Sunday morning 3rd of November by a lady who wanted to report a cruelty case of a dog in distress. He lived in the garden with no shelter and only rainwater to drink. We said it was a job for the RSPCA or dog wardens, as we have no powers to address this sort of situation. However, she did not want to wait till Monday and asked the neighbours if she could have him, pretending she had just lost a dog. They happily handed him over saying no matter what they fed him he still lost weight!!
Little Tim was brought to us. He weighed only 4.2 kilos. He was severely emaciated. He was given food but the act of giving food on such a badly starved dog caused his little body to shut down needing emergency hospital treatment. His poor emaciated body could not cope with the food and he had to be hospitalised for 4 days on oxygen and drip and could only have fluids. He was only given a very guarded chance of living. Timmy has been let down by a system and mankind, who should have been there to protect him. If love and care can bring him back from the brink then we hope he will recover, but it is early days. We will do our best but his recovery will be a long one. With this in mind we are appealing for your help with what will surely be a very large vet bill.
