Probably have more luck on the pitch with a live Lion?Has anyone used Lion poo I hear it helps dissuade visitors in gardens so why not on a pitch ?
I would you to try and move my dog and wife if I’m only going to water out the barrier if I’ve pay for the dayIf you leave a pitch on an aire for any reason it is no longer your spot and anyone can take it. We've seen numerous times when MHers have left stuff on a pitch on full aires and gone off, not just to a dump point next door, but for shopping, a tootle our for the day etc and this has prevented us from stopping there or we've had to take a difficult or tight spot. Now if we see that we'd move their stuff and use the spot.
If you want the assurance of a guaranteed pitch you should go on a campsite.
Sorry I just read that back to myself ,
my bad grammar ,
But I’m sure you get what I mean![]()
Got one of those as well - had the garage I worked at do a numberplate with just our surname on.Bought a yellow folding thing here from the net- like those 'wet floor ' signs that says motorhome pitch , wrote van reg on it in black marker . Used it once so far![]()
Oooh! Sunlounger with a towel would have done the job!We have one of these
With our number plate printed on it
(The one we have says 'reserved for motorhome' in 4 different languages)
There are many available in Amazon and Ebay
One of many examples here

It's been in the gas locker for at least 5 years, and it think I've used it twice!
One of which was to reserve the next door pitch for a friend!
.
That’s all well and good but anyone passing that’s driven down the N340 will think she’s on the BatterI leave the wife on the pitch and go out for the day.![]()
For sale, little used, one owner.A photographer friend of mine printed a picture of my motorhome, showing numberplate onto a 8x10" sheet of aluminium which we made into a fold flat pitch marker. Next year we changed the van.![]()
We do that when the sun is down on ours but sunny on other pitches. This has just reminded me of something that happened the other day, proper 'Spanish' aire with marked spots, free services there too.
A Dutch couple were sat out and a spot was vacated a few along from them, they immediately got up and moved their chairs to the spot and the wife sat on hers in the middle of it.
A Morello MH drove on the aire shortly after and as this was the only pitch available he proceeded to reverse in ... and kept going! He obviously knew she was there so did it very slowly but she soon got the message to shift or be squished.
The spot wasn't for the Dutch couple as they had made no attempt to move their MH so it must've been for someone else who they were expecting at some point but as the aire is very popular and full most of the time people often have to queue to get on so reserving a spot was well out of order, first in the queue has first dibs.

Same as, we always walk or use public transport and never have any problems getting around and the 2 rabid Jack Russells love to go on trains and buses and look out of the windowI leave my van on the pitch
Local travel is on foot or by bike.

That won't matter as since your current m/home isn't there anyone looking won't know it's not the same m/home. For 15 years I've used a spare number plate that hasn't been the same reg'n number as my current m/home.A photographer friend of mine printed a picture of my motorhome, showing numberplate onto a 8x10" sheet of aluminium which we made into a fold flat pitch marker. Next year we changed the van.![]()
If we had to move off a spot on an Aire I would stand on it with dog.
On a campsite in UK probably wouldn’t happen as we would have car with us and only reason van would move is if we had to go out to fill LPG.
We did leave a CL once, completely for the day with both vehicles, left a pallet we had been using, and our No. plate sign, when we got back found it all in the hedge but no one on site anywhere!
...how considerate, I assume that's for the wife whilst she is left behind to guard the pitch!Leave a table &chair on the pitch. Padlock together for extra security.
Come on be honest you cant exactly just park your flipping great big bus in a town or village.Same as, we always walk or use public transport and never have any problems getting around and the 2 rabid Jack Russells love to go on trains and buses and look out of the window
Most we have stayed is 5 nights on a site’s in Croatia and Switzerland, normally 2-3 nights and move on.
You would be surprised where my van goes, can sneak in unnoticedCome on be honest you cant exactly just park your flipping great big bus in a town or village.![]()
