So an hour south from Elea beach theres this lovely little bay with a half moon sandy beach and next to an old archeological site rumoured to be the Tomb of Thrasimedes
Perfect spot for some drone footage but not so good for an overnight stop as theres signs saying fines will be issued ...so we had lunch ...took some pics with the drone and then had a hike up to the archeological site....which is better seen from the air as you will see in the photos.

We then drove around the other side of the bay which means a 30 minute drive back around the main roads and about 20 miles driving to arrive less than 1km from where we were but without getting wet
There's 2 other vans here in quite a small spot but i want to hike up to the castle tomorrow so im just going to pretend im french and ignore the small area after the castle ill drive back along this access road a bit and park in one of the numerous spots along there.

Yeah its necessary when landing on sand to keep the sand out the rotors and camera only time i use it really

Yes,that’s a great shame. You could of course ask permission. I’ve found that, as I grow older (but I’m still young ) I can get away with saying things to young ladies that maybe I couldn’t have risked when I was younger. I guess they think I’m harmless,hahaha

I haven't posted much on this thread recently Tam, but I am still following and enjoying(enviously)

I assume that in pic 12(?) those are salt pans in the corner of the bay.

Yes to be honest I've been feeling the last few days that i need time to myself which has been difficult as i get invited to eat lunch and dinner with them all every day and often a load of others too as they are incredibly sociable ....i on the other hand can often just need my own space ....i often think im an introverted extrovert ....like i enjoy company for a while but then i need a break to recharge for a bit or it gets overwhelming .... especially if a lot of people at the one time.

I also sometimes feel a little strange as they all talk among themselves in french a lot and im there not having a clue whats going on till someone translates which isnt all the time.


So yes a break is required and if they end up ahead of me as i believe they want to head over to the east coast straight away whereas i plan to follow the coast south first then ill perhaps catch up with them again later.

Alas .. solen ...or soul as she prefers to be called doesn't seem overly interested in an auld scottish guy ....but trust me when i say she is very beautiful and like a hippy angel lol ...she has an old merc camper that inside looks like an old gypsy wagon ...but i think shes like mid 20's and wild as they come.

HaHa. Yes its very annoying. Even more annoying when you have one yourself. We had a T5 Transporter and the sliding door used to do my head in. In the night I used to squeeze through to the drivers door and go that way for my 2am pee in the hedge. Now I am more mature I can quietly sneak out the nice posh (quiet) Hab door for 2 pees in the Hedge (2am and 4am)

I lived in a house for most of my life and I still went up and down the stairs several times a day having come down - or gone up - and forgotten something ..... so I'd probably be one of those whoosh bangers annoying everyone around me

Are soft-close available for retro-fit? How much?

Inside you need to fit a pull strap at the side that closes in then you slide it along slowly till nearly closed and pull it in from the back

Outside you slide along slowly then push the back in

Very quiet that way

Just back from our hike up to old Navarino castle then back down and along the cliff edge to Nestor's cave overlooking voidokilias bay from the other side

Got some great drone pics but heres some from my phone on the hike up and around first.....spotted lots of butterflies , huge spiders and a few toads/frogs not sure which
