We got moved on by the police from the main Karathona beach back in May16 and moved up to where you are now. There is a lovely little church only accesible from the footpath from the parking area, theres a little signpost, well worth a looksie.

Yeah renau got moved from beach on the 7th thats why i parked up here ...was out at the church this morning 😉
 
Ugh! Horrible things.
I am sooo relieved we don't get them in this vicinity. It would worry me silly and I would never dare let tbe dogs off their leads, which would be a horrible existence for them.

Yeah they are nasty buggers ...first time ive seen them here ...i don't even like walking under them
 
Maybe best to keep the doggies on leads when your near them, I remember walk the coast path in France last year and no trees close but they where stringing across the path.

Greece has been in lockdown since i got here pretty much.
The police don't want us staying in one place so really its just masks everywhere. Not much else happening ... everything is closed bar essential shops
 
After a quick visit to lidl this morning where a couple of chancers were trying a wiper blade scam i moved on to the next little village of tolo .....it was colder overnight last night with some snow appearing on the hills in the distance but its another scorcher today ....sat here having lunch and im burning

Just thankfully no where near me

I think im gonna stay in Greece till end of Feb instead of January .....enjoy it while i can

I'll answer the wiper blade scam.
Happened to me at a lidl (but in cyprus). You park the car/van and a couple of lads(usually east Europeans) come up and start taking the blades off telling you they need replacing. And when you tell them to leave them alone they suddenly dont understand what what you are saying.
F**k off! got the message across but they were very persistent.

Yes thats pretty much it ..in this case 3 greek lads ....they lift a blade making sure to pull the rubber bit out the metal when doing it and tell you its broken
They then proceed to remove your blade even when yoi are telling them to leave it alone and fit a new one ...they then try to get 5 euro ...
I had to tell him 4 times to take it off and replace my blade... you then get abuse as he walks away ...2minutes later the other one tries it

I saw a german camper let him do it just as i was about to leave ....he gave him 5 euros and they asked for more ws he had 2 ....so another 5 euro

Probably stolen blades too


So i had to refity the rubber in mine where he had pulled it off.


I carry 4 spare blades anyway 😁
 
This town has a nice feel to it ...i think it will be a busy wee tourist hotspot in the summer months ....i like how the beach comes right up to the steps of the taverns, restaurants and hotels

Went out just now to take some drone shots ....had it in the air about 2 minutes and i was suddenly aware i had 5 or 6 men peering over my shoulder looking at the screen lol ......ive had the odd inquisitive person come ask about it before lol but never so many ....the locals all intrigued here ....and a french couple too ...the man was very interested then he says you would like my job! ...and he shows me a photo on his phone of a gyrocopter and says he flies it....then showed me some videos of him flying it and flocks of geese etc flying right next to him .....amazing ...and yes he is right id love to do that . ...by the time id got some pics i had the half dozen locals , the french couple and a few kids all standing around watching the drone lol

So despite all the distractions i did get a few photo's ....

I want to take it along the beach a bit tomorrow and see if i can fly out to that small island ...i think there's a church on it

Yes it is atourist hotspot in summer. It used to be full of young scandinavians and some really stunning chicks amongst them - you should hang around, or come back after Bulgaria.
