Posted this here too https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...ith-discount-codes.309492/page-2#post-6403663 but didn't want anyone to miss out as it's such a good deal so thought it deserved it's own thread for maximum reach!
Have just bought our Xmas pressie to ourselves  - latest model 10" Lenovo tablet bundled with case & pen at a bargain BF price https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/p/tabl...novo-tab-series/tab-m10-plus-gen-3/zaan0222gb £150 delivered (small amount of Quidco cashback) or do as we did register for Perks At Work https://www.perksatwork.com/marketplace & go via that for £139.99 still buying on the Lenovo website (y) Either way register for their Rewards programme too as this purchase gives £7 off another one for a limited time so may come in handy - if buying more than one item then buy them individually so the Rewards discount can be applied to the second purchase.
We have a 4 year old lower spec M10 which has been excellent for downloaded magazines (Libby free through local Library) & for downloading tv programmes to watch when away & replaced our tv in the motorhome (sound & size are good) as well as handy for internet use in addition to our phones. Looking forward to this newer model with it's extra functions & increased speed :)
Hope this helps others looking for a good value tablet too 🎅

I am just wondering. Do these have much life left in them from an update/support point of view?

Just trying to work out if my Mum should get another tablet or a chromebook?

She just needs one for small amounts of email, social media etc. She has a main computer for serious stuff.

Thanks

Can only advise on our experience & 4.5 years of daily use our old M10 is still working well so perhaps it is still automatically updating.
The M10 Plus is much higher spec so fingers crossed for longevity but happy that the cost is low so not as risky as spending much more.

I'm another Lenovo advocate here, bought a Tab 4 8 plus back in 2018 that is now just used as a Kindle reader, and bought my current P11 plus in 2022 and still going strong, actually watching YouTube on it as I'm typing this on my phone.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a lenovo tablet to anyone

Im going to show my ignorance here but what's the difference between a Lenovo and a Samsung galaxy tablet as I'm in need of a new one?

If you can post a link to the Samsung one that you are considering perhaps some techie Funsters on here can advise?

Thankyou so much Karen, I’d seen your thread earlier but it was only this morning that I remembered that Nick had been complaining about his very old Samsung tablet so Christmas present sorted! £137.99 with my Blue light discount and a £2 discount for creating an account.

Thank you Karen 👍 have been looking for a more up to date tablet.

Don't know if anyone can help me with a problem? Just received my Lenovo & am in the process of setting it up. We have an earlier Lenovo model & I would like to transfer an excel spreadsheet from the old model to the new one - but it transfers as a read only file 🤷, I'm probably being a bit dense 🫤 but how do I make it into an editable spreadsheet?

The new excel opens documents up in read-only mode but at the top, usually on the right-hand side there should be an edit workbook option if this is the same issue.

Unfortunately I don't get that edit workbook option - only a link "Activate Microsoft 365 to create and edit documents" try for a month free

ah, OK sounds as though the product is not registered so will likely prevent you from editing until registered. Might be worth downloading open office from the play store if it's available, as that should allow it.

There will be subtle differences but they are both Android so are basically the same. Some might say Samsung is a more premium product.

Thanks zac for your suggestion

In the play store apps coming up are
AndrOpen Office
Libre office Viewer
MobiOffice

I tried to start a new spreadsheet in Excel & that comes up as read only, so I'm confused what I'm doing wrong! 🤷

Edit - am trying using Google sheets 🤞and it seems to be working 🤞🤞

Did a search online to check the price, found one from Argos at £99.99. Lenovo Tab M10, 4gb plus 64gb, no cover or pen. Just setting it up but very pleased so far.

Thank you Wombles for the prompt

Sod's Law the M10 Plus bundle is now £130.01 today! It's always a gamble as have held out on similar tablet & laptop deals on other Black Fridays & all sold out so jumped early this time - still got a great deal though & found out that our library has changed from Libby to Borrowbox so a much wider digital versions of papers, magazines, audio & books now & found a book I wanted that wasn't available free before on there so that's on our new tablet free now :)

For anyone who can access Borrowbox it's this one https://somersetuk.borrowbox.com/pr...der-for-people-who-dont-want-to-talk-about-it - Lucy was my consultant some time ago with a great bedside manner as well as expert in all things aging wise so interested in her take on this.

BorrowBox is brilliant. We’ve had it for quite a while now. I use it for my daily newspaper fix of 2 or 3. I was panic stricken this morning when there was a glitch and I couldn’t get any for the 1st of December.
We’re Dorset and my friend who was a Somerset Librarian had been muttering about Libby and BorrowBox this week. I thought I’d misheard her and she was saying Dorset was losing it rather than Somerset getting it!
