I’m a newbie
Im thinking of replacing the table in my Carthago. The table that's there is so big it gets in the way. I have looked at previous posts about this, but I am wondering is 22 mm or 15 mm too thin? The table thats there looks much more substantial that the photos I've seen on line.

We used Lagun leg and Corian table top works great for us, table before was massive!
Good thing is when you’re not using it you can just push it out of the way. In the summer we often take it out completely.

That would be great thank you
Finally got around to changing the table....and here are the photos
I was actually surprised how light the Carthago table top was, though given it has a chip in it I probably shouldn't have been.

Before....with the table in the "travelling" position ie. as far towards the rear as possible:

The new table is a simple gloss white 600 x 600 table top I bought from Billy Button Campers which (almost) matches the cupboard doors. I knew there would be excess space between the edge of the table and the passenger side bench seat so we could have gone as long as 700 or 750 into that space, but I couldn't find anything ready-made to suit. Looking at where the fixings sit I don't think we could have gone much below 600 in the front-to-back direction.

We're going to try this one out at the weekend to see how it goes, though I still think the table leg should ideally be further towards the passenger side....but now I've done the carpets I guess we won't be trying to move it.

That’s interesting . We have found in the masters e shop a gloss kitchen door in grey still in the wrappings . So we are going to have a look and see how that works . If all else fails we will see about getting something similar . Why do Carthago have such enormous tables !

My OH manages to fill every square inch of ours. We are both pretty slim so negotiating it has not been a problem. I had been planning to take it off its framework to check the weight, anticipating constructing something lighter and possibly perhaps 10cm smaller. In view of DangerMousy comments, it seems to be not worth the effort for a probable minimal weight gain. I'll just have to get OH to swap to thongs from'Bridget Jones' specials to save weight.

Here is a pictureof the replacement table top I purchased. It is very similar to the kitchen work top in our Hymer.

Took our massive, heavy, Hymer table out and use a foldable table for two when required.

Removing the table has given us loads more room.

I was looking at one that looks very similar to that on ebay...Corian on top and wood underneath. Sadly because its a circle it was too large for the existing pedestal/mechanism. 😞

If I get the chance I'll try to weigh the old table top for you.

Yes, same as I bought. 12mm Corian on 18mm plywood. Looks great when fitted.
