Swing Across Shower Wall Bathrooms - latest trend in coachbuilts?

We are hunting for a motorhome and want a separate shower enclosure. Have been looking at Burstners 2017 onwards and I think some Nexxo versions have a swing wall so have avoided them - the "wall" goes down as far as the loo seat and there is wood veneer everywhere inside the loo/sink side.

Pity, you could have looked at this set up in my 2018 Hymer MLT 580 at the Peterborough show.
I think is a very good design feature.

The loo gets used multiple time each day, whereas, even on a good day, the shower might get used twice, or in actuality once every couple of days, having a 'fold away' shower makes complete sense.

No need to waste space on something that gets used for ten mins a couple of times a wek
If I was looking for a van today, then this is one feature that would get a big tick from me.

Given that this format has been around for at least a decade and a half now is this concern something that does actually happen, or is just we have phobias about mixing water and wood. It's a genuine question from me to those who have owned this style of bathroom. My ownership is still in the months and not years, so I have an interest in finding out from the long-term owners, and users.

The idea & design is clearly not entirely new but we tried to find a new van conversion or low profile coachbuilt with this type of swing wall bathroom & certainly wasn't widely available as didn't manage to find any after many, many hours searching at multiple NEC Shows & waited over a year & had to import to get this in a van conversion three years ago! Still think it might be the trend for 2022 models like other previous trends - small coachbuilts (from eight years ago), then narrower motorhomes, followed by drop down electric beds, van conversions then sun roofs etc.
Where did you end up getting yours from as I’m looking for 1 for my conversion. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

As above Hymer B544 a useful space saving design providing a decent size shower.

I discounted them as I don’t like the idea of pipes (supply and waste ) being flexed and moved about. It’s only a matter of time till they fail.
Our Adria Compact has a swing wall and this is something that I have thought about.
I cant see how it works - do the pipes just flex or is there some type of swivel fitting?
I don't remember ever reading about anyone having a problem with split pipes so perhaps there is little to worry about.

Not see these before and it does seem a sensible solution. We have a completely separate shower on the opposite side of the van from the bathroom. It makes a nice large combined space when you close it off from the lounge/bedroom but it does seem a bit of a waste of space when it is not used most of the time. It becomes a storage space but is good for hanging towels and other wet stuff.

We have one on our Burstner. Really makes a difference to room in the “bathroom” as we call it😀

Just to add to the above re our Burstner - it’s a 2015 we bought new and have never had any issue with the “wood” and water

Our Globecar summit prime has a swing shower. It is used and is fine. Our previous Autosleeper also had one. Some of the other Globecar shave showers that utilise the corridor, but that shuts off the kitchen for anyone else to use, so we didn’t like that idea for us. Ok ours isn’t the biggest shower and you cant really get dried in there but it works for us.

oops, thought this was about swingers in the motorhome .....  :giggle:

or perhaps it is and you all know the 'code' words to attract each other .....

Our Pilote P650 (2016 Reg ) has a full length swing wall. They have been out for a few years now
