Swift Kon-tiki bargain at £150,000

The Fiat one was parked behind it in Brownhills and a similar price

Similar price?

I am going past Clownhills next week so may have to pop in and take a look then will know how many wheels drive.

So it is 4x4 then ?
If its got driveshafts to the front wheels straight from the gearbox my money is on it being a Fiat, Swift don't offer the Kontiki dynamic being discussed in "all wheel drive" only rear wheel drive IVECO.

Aye the equestrian as in donkeys lol

Not to carry donkeys mind you ......

They are in the front seats

Neighhhh I say

I could buy a house in Spain with a private Swimming pool for that. In a reasonable neighbourhood and a small seas view too!.
That only work s if you're happy having all your holidays in the same place. We've done both - mh every time for us

A chap who races at the same track as myself has one, in his words "it's fantastic! Tows the racecar and trailer beautifully and is very well appointed inside, I opted for the bigger water and gas tanks..........but it does still say "Swift" on it! "

D.

In the showroom the IVECO one was £150k and the FIAT one had sold on it with the price covered up, though not well enough so you couldn’t have a peak and it was £130k. Maybe reduced now as it does say “now £97895”
Reduced from £100,240 that one says on the web page attached above, the IVECO dynamic does come "fully loaded" including a generator and hydraulic jacks but not sure what options need adding to the Fiat based one.

EDIT scrub the jacks they are an option.

These figures are absolutely eye watering and after checking the website, I’m struggling to see how they’re justified.

I’m not knocking Swift, as my first motorhome was a Bessacarr E769, which is the same ‘Island Bed’ layout as the new Kontiki 650 High and it was bone dry. We had some fantastic holidays in it, but after the girls stopped coming away with us, it was a bit too big for our needs.

.....and to prove I’m not knocking Swift, we replaced the Bessie with a new Bolero, which was also an excellent van :D

If I was spending 150 grand I wouldn't be considering a Kon-Tiki.

We had a look at the one in the showroom. Same old Swift with bits hanging off it. They have decor panels with Velcro on them and the Velcro had come unstuck from the panel. Few other bits that were not that well put together so cannot see it lasting long. Only time will tell.

Brownhills had the expensive one inside tucked right at the back in a corner and the cheaper one outside. So £100,000 buys you a basic one and £50,000 extra for the frills. Did notice that the tag axle version does not have a garage but the Iveco version does.

I am sorry to say that IF. I was in the market for that kind of Money. I would be looking at the Winnebago Via. Sadly Winnebago have stopped production of same. (they didn't sell that well in the USA) But for less money (UK) you get (got) all the bells and whistles, on the Mercedes Auto, including one or 2 slide-outs. all at about 25ft.

So could we BUT we don't want to;) we already have a house in the UK and would much rather have a motorhome than another house.

Yes, I can go with both your comments.

We have had four motorhomes in 15 years, never lost a great deal of money on any of them. The only new one we had and a used one. We sold them for what we paid for them.

But, if I did have £150k to spend on a motorhome, it would not be a Swift, or anything from that stable.

Going back to what I said. I would buy the right property and invest the money. Run around our 1/2 Price Hymer.

But each to their own and it was merely my opinion, not being nasty. I just think its a lot of money to sink into a money pit.

your all talking from the perspective of spending your own money most equestrians and motorsports are awash with sponsors money

It’s neither and equestrian or motorsports based van in my opinion, it’s just a swift coach built with a garage on an IVECO Daily chassis, the Germans have been doing it for years.

I think they’re aiming at a market without producing a high end vehicle that will actually appeal to those in their target market.

It’s simply not stylish enough and hugely overpriced.
