Summer in Spain (again)

P4N is a must...however we do quite often just drop on a place....normally remote, we risk assess anything that could be an inconvenience to us... traffic, barking dogs or the young folk that do young folk activities...being in a Spanish registered van rarely attracts any serious attention... inquisitive locals come and look, quite often want a chat...we are quite open to this and they often like to get to know our origins..🇪🇺😃
Or a red faced Scottish person. 🤭

Yeah - our map of stolen ideas from a few threads here :)

Nice to have something "known" about in an area if we find ourself there or there abouts.

Today's ride began on a concrete track right behind the motorhome parking. It turned to gravel once it passed the last property, but it stayed easy to ride. We rode into Forcall, on market day, and went to check out their motorhome area. We didn't ride right to it but we could see where it was because of the two motorhomes already there. It's in a nice situation but it's a bit out of the town and access is via a narrow lane. We were going to go there this evening but, as rain is forecast, we've decided to stay on our gravel parking.

I decided to ride through the water. I only just made it with dry feet.

From Forcall ( Peavy how is this pronounced? We couldn't decide about the double ll's at the end) we took the old trail to Morella. We turned off before arriving there but we had a view across the valley.

We rode through the small village Xiva/Chiva de Morella and the road turned into a paved, but narrow, local road.

A lovely corner in Xiva.

All good until it turned to gravel with a sign "camino particular prohibido" at a farm. We tried to get past on a logging track but eventually gave up and retraced our route and ignored the sign. Once through the farm the road became surfaced again with an official local road sign 😡😡. Someone's being a tad naughty there.

We got back with no more problems and we cooked our very first jacket potatoes in the airfryer using the inverter. It was a success. So is the new system. The bikes are charged and, if it wasn't so grey (no rain yet) we'd have more charge in the lithium batteries. Tomorrow is forecast to be sunny 🤞 so they should get a top up whilst we're out riding again.

Not easy even to Spanish speakers.
The double 'l' is very similar to the sound in "llave", before the a, but the double 'l' in Catalan is positioning the tongue wider, allowing the sound towards both cheeks instead of the center from the palate.
I have no idea how to explain this in English:LOL: and I'm not a linguist.

By the way, next to Forcall is Villores, with a lovely tiny motorhome area, we have visited often.

We're at Villores right now. We had a wonderful storm last night.

Now eventually got level at Forcall. There are three other motorhomes here and we were surprised that they are all Spanish. That's good to see. It's a nice spot 👍

We're off out in 10 minutes. Our route is sending us across the water/stepping stones we crossed yesterday. We're going around on the road bridge today 😂

After last nights storm, with very heavy rain, we decided to be cautious and ride mainly on roads. The road from here to the next village, Cintorres, was excellent and very quiet. It's our onward route when we leave here.

The church was imposing for such a small place. We continued in the direction of Morella and found a lovely viewpoint at a col. Strangely it's not on P4N 🤔. The last section of the ride was the track we'd ridden yesterday in the opposite direction. We finished off with a visit to Forcall to find the tiny shop. It's in the market square which we coukd see more of today.

All good things must come to an end. We're heading home today. We decided yesterday evening.

A couple of reasons. The weather is forecast to be wet over the next week, and Martin's ordered some items for his next motorhome project, a new Internet router and antenna, that will be delivered soon, now. Hopefully these will be fitted for our next trip and make more remote parking easier. The next trip will be fairly soon, but fairly local to Murcia (Alicante/Almeria/Castilla la Mancha).

So. I'm closing this thread. I might do some mini threads if wanted.

Thanks to everyone who's read and commented.

Although this thread is finished, just a quick few words to say we're home. We had an easy, if long, journey.

In our absence it appears that the bats came back. Tomorrow's job for me is cleaning the poo off the terrace 🤣
