I've acquired two carver chairs and I'm hoping to restore them, or change them.

I'm not keen on the dark stain, so rubbed some off, quite nice, but it's going to be a big loads of elbow grease.

Is there an easier way ?

TIA.

They're nice Dave! Wonder if the upholsterers who did our van do wooden furniture as well as 'easy' chairs sofas etc - they refurbish pub upholstery in the main so got more than a chance, just wondering if you'd be able to get some decent new studs via them as we know nobody in the trade personally. What wood is it? Not unusual to see things like the wheat (in this case) in different coloured or stained, wood in the original.
