Success with "on gas hob" bread toaster?

Been away really the first time off hook up, and the only thing we missed was the use of the toaster.
Anyone have experience of the "on the hob" toaster racks:
This like these?

Brilliant toast once you got used to using it, takes up no room when handle folded down. Currently £11.95 on Amazon (called Bright Spark Toaster)

To be honest surprised no-one has mentioned the Ridge monkey at this point. Makes great toasted sandwiches from "untoasted bread" ...

Can confirm the Delta2 inverter/battery we have can run a normal toaster off grid just fine though... this is something we do use as we do enjoy Toast in mornings. It's a bit expensive to just have for Toast though....

+1 for a ridge monkey xl and brilliant for a toasted sandwich. Ref OP I had one, used it once and straight to the bin, I felt as if I was eating cardboard

We tried one on a camping gas stove in our lightweight camping days. It was so useless we have not bothered in the van.

Binned ours from camping days as useless, now just use pop up plug in toaster!

I would also recommend a ridge monkey ,makes good toast among many other things

Use a dry frying pan.

Better still, a cast iron flat griddle plate.
After toasting one side, melt butter on plate and you finish up with toasted butter toast.
If you want a full English, that can be done first and moved to one end while you do the toast.
