Is there a realist A Class under 3500 kg with a realistic workable payload, with a fixed low level bed. One that does not need a ladder to access

A Pilote 600 or 650 would give you 600 kgs payload I think they nay be discontinued now so 2 years old would be the youngest

I wanted a G600. But they disappeared in 2017, there weren't any that were Euro6. Also, Pilote are flexible with the truth about their payload.

That’s good to know. Are you on the 140 or 180 engine? I’ve ordered the former and hope it will enough…though probably overthinking
I think you will be fine, unless you are a speed demon. We have the 140 at 4000kg with the 9 speed auto. I love it...would I like the 180 engine instead?....of course, never hurt to have a bit more power but in the two and a half years we've had the MH, I've never felt we struggled because of the engine output.

We run our Carthago Compactline 138 at 3500Kg( 20Kg under). Two folding e-bikes, full provisions, clothes, fuel and water and fairly light occupants. Two steps up to the transverse bed.
That would be some ninja loading to get the front axle to 1500kg

The front is about 1700Kg. so the rear axle is well under. As you say I'd have to shuffle a fair bit if I wanted to use more of the rear load capacity.
