Getting it uprated been running 300kg over.
It only had just over 500 kg payload.
There's no way that weighs less than 3500kg when loaded.Hello. We have recently bought a Rapido c86i A class under 3500kg here in France. We are very pleased with it and is a definite upgrade from our Pilote
Yes agree, 2945 empty is very optimisticThere's no way that weighs less than 3500kg when loaded.
It’s also not double floored if that is what you are wanting an a-class for. We’ve got the C86 on order which we think is ideal for us. The i version is virtually the same apart from the wider cab.Yes agree, 2945 empty is very optimistic
In my experience, 3650 is still way too light, mine is uprated to 4000 and then we are ok. Thats the most the alko chassis will allow. It’s also not double floored if that is what you are wanting an a-class for. We’ve got the C86 on order which we think is ideal for us. We’re having our factory unrated to 3650 in anticipation that it’ll be tight weight wise
Van Weight Engineering got ours up to 3960kgs as a paper exercise. The 3650 is a paper thing. What did you have to do to go 4000kg?
Needed rear air on the alko struts - fitted by SAP. May also need front shocks upgrade, but already fitted if 9sp auto by Fiat….apparently they have to for the weighter gear box over a manual? The 3650 is a paper thing. What did you have to do to go 4000kg?
Cut the handles off your tooth brushes and fill the garage with helium balloons.few weight saving tips i would like to share .wear string vests and string pants. fill the food draw with rivita fill the fridge with chocolate moose.(not a real moose covered in chocolate thats weired )and if u want to get a bit flash and splash the cash and posh it up a bit get some ferrero rocher them things weigh sod all
That’s good to know. Are you on the 140 or 180 engine? I’ve ordered the former and hope it will enough…though probably overthinkingVan Weight Engineering got ours up to 3960kgs as a paper exercise.
Front axle is 1960kgs on the auto version.
The whole idea is if we don’t get my C1 entitlement this time may have to downsize (76) currently running a 2019 Burstner IEXO A class with good spec uprated to 4500kgs.Is there a realist A Class under 3500 kg with a realistic workable payload, with a fixed low level bed. One that does not need a ladder to access
Yes, it can be done.We run our Carthago Compactline 138 at 3500Kg( 20Kg under). Two folding e-bikes, full provisions, clothes, fuel and water and fairly light occupants. Two steps up to the transverse bed.
140 , and I don't find it short on power. That’s good to know. Are you on the 140 or 180 engine? I’ve ordered the former and hope it will enough…though probably overthinking
Thats great to hear thanks. (I'll stop hijacking the OP's threas now l140 , and I don't find it short on power.

The 140 engine gets 30 more torques when combined with auto. Manual 350Nm, Auto 380Nm.140 , and I don't find it short on power.

Don't see point in having the 180. Have done 10,000 miles since new and power has never been an issue.I've got the 180 with the Auto box has 450nm of torque I wouldn't want anything less.
Replacing all the air in my Hymer A-class with helium would save about 30 kg.Cut the handles off your tooth brushes and fill the garage with helium balloons.
I didn't pay more it was standard but if I had to I would have. My last van was a 150hp, the 180 is so much nicer to drive.Don't see point in having the 180. Have done 10,000 miles since new and power has never been an issue.
Usual travel at around 60 mph, mostly in 9th gear, can't see a reason to pay more for something that's not needed.
Also averaging 30 mpg ,which I'm happy with.
100% agree, the 180 with 9 sp is just a dream, easily handles my 4000 kg MH, sure it would be fine with much more too.I didn't pay more it was standard but if I had to I would have. My last van was a 150hp, the 180 is so much nicer to drive.
My last van was also a 150 and the new 140 is also much nicer to drive. My last van was a 150hp, the 180 is so much nicer to drive.
Might be standard on yours, but it wasn't on mine.I didn't pay more it was standard but if I had to I would have. My last van was a 150hp, the 180 is so much nicer to drive.
