Checked fuses ???
You may have popped one as you unplug. Also possible an internal fuse within the Sargent unit ( not sure)..
There should be a 20amp fuse on the front of the EC 225, test that first with a multimeter.

Bad habit of pulling out 240 lead and not switching off EC225 leisure batteries not charging new one or can it be repaired?
If that's what caused the problem I wouldn't bother repairing it, I'd replace it with a quality charger that can stand a simple thing like that. I've never switched off the charger before unplugging the hookup lead, and don't think anyone else does either.
