Bad habit of pulling out 240 lead and not switching off EC225 leisure batteries not charging new one or can it be repaired?

Checked fuses ???
You may have popped one as you unplug. Also possible an internal fuse within the Sargent unit ( not sure)..
There should be a 20amp fuse on the front of the EC 225, test that first with a multimeter.

Have you checked the mcb for the charger on the RCD device ? If you do need a repair www.sargentltd.co.uk or www.apuljackelectronics.co.uk offer a repair for your EC225

If that's what caused the problem I wouldn't bother repairing it, I'd replace it with a quality charger that can stand a simple thing like that. I've never switched off the charger before unplugging the hookup lead, and don't think anyone else does either.
