Rally Stratford Upon Avon 2025

It's Shakespeare's Birthday Celebrations this weekend. Parade and other stuff happening this Saturday.

Be careful if you have a small dog outside your van - a Red Kite has just been circling the campsite!

They have been known to attack small furries ☹️

So today have seen on the rally

One dog owner with dog on a short lead, stand and allow the dog to piss over the drinking water stand pipe. Just walked away when I said something to her.

Walked out of the toilets and had to stop as another one had two dogs on extended leads walk across my path. One dog 3 metres in front and the other 2 metres behind her. Didn’t give a damn about inconveniencing others.

What is it with these ignorant inconsiderate people.

My dog was attacked this morning!

He was on his lead when a larger spaniel came running up to him - owner was nowhere in sight.

Unfortunately Buzz isn’t keen on being approached and a fight ensued.

The owner eventually caught up to us and said his dog was deaf and couldn’t respond to commands.

WELL KEEP IT ON A LEAD THEN!!!

Problem is you are right on a public right of way where the fun area is and all the local dog walkers cut straight through letting their dogs do what they want it's always been like that.

Thank you, yes he’s fine. Shook us all up at the time though.

Luckily it was between 2 spaniels who are soft-mouthed so no blood drawn.

That’s good to hear.

Years ago, a dog attacked our household poodle and smashed his jaw in. Couple of seconds was all it took.

It’s was a neighbour. We took her to court and won damages as a result. But it was little recompense for our poor dog.

Pretty certain both are on the rally. Doubt with the Funsters group though. We tend to be argumentative (😂😂), but responsible 🥳🥳

Poor Buzz, I am sorry Janine. You’ve worked so hard with him. If you’d not rescued him he was going to be put down if I remember correctly.

Yes. He is obsessed with birds - he killed all the chickens at a neighbouring free-range farm before I got him - hence he is always kept on a lead.

Unfortunately he is now obsessed with keeping me safe so doesn’t like other dogs coming up to us.

He has been very good here though and has made friends with the dogs next to us 😀

That’s incredible progress though Janine.

We had a wander around the town yesterday, plenty of 'Street Entertainment' some very good.

Particularly the Bob Marley sound-a-like, who also played guitar very well, and the young girl on the violin, playing the music from Last of the Mohicans, was brilliant.

Not sure how the marathon is going to affect those of us leaving tomorrow (Sunday). It says Luddington Road is closed from 08:30 until 13:00.

I wandered into town again this morning and was lucky to see part of Shakespeare’s birthday celebrations - a march through town by several bands, dignitaries and many of Stratford’s school children.

The buskers were amazing and there was a lovely atmosphere.

Binned out early to avoid the rush but many thanks to Lee Fryer and TheHat for looking after us all.

The Arden Hotel has a very good singer in the Sinatra/Dean Martin vein, worth poping over here if you're in town(y)

Ta much Lee. Enjoyed it. Didn't have opportunity to get together with many Funsters . Many seemed to be friends before. Entertainment at night was A1 especially last night, left early this morning because of the fear of road closures.

Thank you to the marshalls!

I have suppressed immune system at the moment and so didn't go with any crowds etc... Also discovered a very small gas leak from a quickly isolated tank and so parked away from the main Funster gathering to let the remaining dregs evaporate away. Another bill coming my way......

Sorry to be late thanking you Lee for another well run friendly meet and for organising me a lift into Stratford, lovely to meet up with friends and get my mo-jo back after an illness.
