Hi All,

We are driving to Lake Como in July and have split the journey into 3 sections but know nothing of Switzerland? Do they have aires like France? Looking to stay a night in Lucerne but no campsites available for 1 night so wandered if they have a place to stay just overnight?

Any and all advice appreciated. Oh and it’s only a small VW van if it makes a difference.

Thanks Mark.

I have just accidentally driven over the border as I didn’t realise we were that close to Switzerland yet!!
Went around the roundabout back out into the Lidli German side and Mrs CC is stocking up as we speak.
Back over the border in a minute on our way to our site😁😁

That’s probably about £100 in data roaming charges 🤣

Included in our Vodafone contracts 😁😁
Although the RWG sim in the Netgear is not that’s extra.
Hopefully the site will have good internet 🙏🙏
The one in Luxembourg we we’re streaming Netflix HD4K on it and no buffering 😳😳

Look up Lucern/Luzern/Lucerne on here in the search and you'll find plenty of info.
There is a good site on the shore of Lake Lucern called Camping International Lido.
From memory, it's a first come first serve booking (unless it's changed) but min.stay of 2 nights.
There are motorhome stopovers and parking facilities - you'd be best checking out one of the apps for more details as depends on your route.
Also, for what it costs, you'll get more than your monies worth since joining this forum for the year with unlimited posts as you'll also be able to access country specific threads (in menu) and get some info & ideas from them.
My biggest tip for you - stick rigidly to the speed limit in Switzerland!
