Hi all, Still not sorted out the loss of power in ourNexxo t660. Changed the turbo booster today as a first cheap fix, no change, still struggling to get up hills compared to previously. Will change EGR next.
Funny thing happened when we parked up after going for a spin and wondering if it's linked. Father in law asked me to give it a rev and it would only go up to about 2800 rpm and no higher. I ;put the clutch in and let it go and then revved extremely powerfully. Going to take it for another spin tomorrow and do this first in case it resets something?? Clutching at straws!! Anyone know if this happens for a reason.
Another post said due to water coming in through the connection in the middle of the scuttle this can impact the TPS electrical connections. We tried to fix this a couple of weeks ago but loads of water on the engine again but it had dried when we got back and under cover til tomorrow when we can put more sealant in the gap. Anyone got any ideas about the TPS electrical issues and any fixes? Many thanks in advance-diolch, Daf

Tried blowing/sucking and could hear nothing so seems may be the egr. Cheers
My EGR was stuck open on my 2.3. I chose to block the ends of the EGR cooler, and get it remapped out of the ecu. Van now runs much much better.
To know if your EGR is definitely stuck open you need to try to get air through the EGR cooler.

The newer throttle body on an older engine needs an adapter loom, but is vastly superior. And the state of the EGR valve will be pretty disgusting too. Problem with water regularly getting onto the top of the engine is that it all corrodes and seizes up. Then it throws all sorts of codes and restricts power, because it is getting out of range responses. People throw lots of money at these faults replacing parts because of the design faults. It needs a proper engineering solution to solve it long term. the upgraded throttle body is an important part of that

In honesty the entire thing is ridiculous as the throttle body is only there to allow the EGR to work, and make shutting down smoother. A proper diesel engine wouldn’t/shouldn’t have a throttle body.

Given up for now as have been recommended a couple of lads who work from home and who are supposedly spot on at diagnosing issues so taking it to them in the new year so fingers crossed and hopefully be able to let you guys know what the problem was! Thanks for all the helpful suggestions

I read recently that if the external temperature gauge stops working the regeneration doesn’t take place eventually leading to a loss of power. Sounds too simple to be true but apparently lots of temperature senders are lost when damaged mirrors are replaced with cheap mirrors that don’t have the sender.
Edit. and now the link
