Just had our renewal from Staysure for our annual multi-trip (with medical conditions) insurance. A nice surprise was the premium was the same as last year if we renewed on-line. However a bit of research turned up Avanti, who are part of the same group offering word for word exactly the same insurance for about 33% less. I didn’t bother with the rigmarole of ringing Staysure and went with Avanti.

We've just added a severe illness to our Staysure insurance for an extra £600, total cost now a big jump to £752. Avanti wanted nearly £1300 for the same policy.

We have used Avanti for several years now. Seem fair price and admin seems on the ball.

However, I guess like all insurance you don’t know how good the cover or the company until you need to claim.

We've gone with Admiral this year as most insurances either wouldn't quote or gave quotes around £1K because Joe has had an AAA repair recently. Hopefully next year will be a bit cheaper as it will be much longer since the op.

Do these cover 90 day trips?
I’ve got to renew mine shortly. LV was the only one covering for 90 days although there were exclusions.

Admiral was only 30 days but at the moment that's all we do so fine for us. Hoping that we can get 45 or 60 days next time we need to renew.

Hope Joe is doing well…. I had a AAA repair Oct 2021 last year my insurance with Staysure only went up by about £60.

hi Joes fully recovered quite a bit of bruising around the groin going around to the back that lasted a couple of weeks but everything ok has to have a scan 3 or 4 times a year now for we don’t know how long.

Did you have the repair done at Canterbury same as Joe ?
Yes , My surgeon was Sahely … did an amazing job … it was an open repair . So was opened up straight down the front , that took a little while to properly heal but I walked out of hospital after 8 days and was walking 5 k within about 3 months .

i had call saying go in for pre op then a couple of days before had a letter saying I had to report to Kent ward on the same day, I had the op the next day and was out the following day driving in 2 weeks really only had a bit of discomfort after op and was awake all through op as had an epidural Mr Bahia was my surgeon.

Years ago we had "elevated premiums" for a "5 year period"as my wife had had a malignant melanoma removed.
What they didn't say ,scamming bardtewards, was that every time we moved house the "5 year period " would start again. I didn't bother paying it .

I suppose our recent (fault) car insurance claim will make us more likely to be ill thereby increasing travel insurance, and more likely to have the house burn down thereby increasing house insurance.

Undoubtedly YES!!! ☹️

Can’t think why they aren’t all linked as far as an insurance company are concerned. 🤬
