We are thinking about getting a new to us MoHo. I’m looking for suggestions on which make and model we should go for. Here’s our ideal spec.
Drop down bed at rear over a U shaped lounge.
4 seat belts.
4 berth.
Toilet not designed for pygmies or people with really short legs.
Tow bar or chassis capable of having one fitted.
Bike rack.
Max of 7m long.
Big front skylight.
Decent sized garage.
Ideally coach built.
Around £40k second hand

What do you own that meets this spec?
All suggestions and comments gratefully received!

Cheers!

Russ

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think you’ll get a “decent size garage” with a rear lounge.
And trying to find a van with a drop down bed over a rear lounge will be like trying to find a needle in a haystack

You can have a rear, U Shaped lounge, or a garage.

And to my knowledge, there isnt anyone who does a drop down bed , over a U shaped lounge either, so best of luck with that.

So do you want space inside , or a garage, because you cant have both in that length.

I've not seen many motorhomes with a drop down bed over a rear lounge tbh. I think you need a compromise there.

Are you limited to 3500kgs Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW)?
That may force other compromises upon you.

Garage with lounge above - possible but the combined height required for each, I think, won't give much garage height within the overall height of a 3500kg moho.

Some of your requirements seem to me more restrictive of the van you may get. I mean, dropping the toilet height issue and whether there is a bike rack could open up more options for you. Those two items could be changed or added without much difficulty because they're not structural (provided they don;t push you over the 3500kgs limit.

If you opt for one with a higher GVW, if you have a C1 category on your licence or are willing to do that test; I've read that they don't hold their resale value as well as < 3500kg vans. That too may open up new options for you.

Burstner Lyseo TD 644 G Harmony Line would fit the bill but not sure if you could find one within budget. I looked at a 21 plate which was around 66k. L shapes longe converts to double and electric drop down comes down from above. Has a large garage also. Separate toilet and shower behind the cab which is unusual

Mine would be ideal but it's over your 7m long limit.
It's a U shape rear lounge but the bed is a queen size over cab and not pull down.
It's everything else plus more on your spec list but doesn't fit your bill on the above.
Plus, if I was to sell it would be in September if you can wait until then?
Finding a second hand motorhome that ticks every part of a tick list is pretty difficult and it then comes down to what's a priority and what's a nice to have on a spec list.
Best of luck with your search - it is part of the excitement.

Drop down bed MUCH more important than u shaped lounge, definitely want a decent garage space, our current toilet is to bloody small, when I sit on it I need the door open to give me some leg room! The toilet height is fine. Thanks for all your responses so far!!

We have a decent sized garage at the back of our pilote a5, it's just a shame the bottom bunk almost completely covers it 😄
