Burstner lyseo time
Our van failed to start yesterday after a long lay up on EHU ,the panel shows 12.3v and we have a battery master fitted ,it tried to start all the lights on dash as normal but didn’t kick over , as far as I know the battery is the original (18 plate) so time to renew?

Just checked it the original Fiat labelled battery so coming up to six years old plus time on shelf !

best type to replace with?

I fitted a yuasa last year. Go for the best you can afford. If your in the rac call their battery service. They will test your old battery and fit a new one to the right spec on your drive or wherever if your not sure.

12.3v on as sealed lead acid battery is approx ~~ 50% charged...

if you have one, check voltage using a multimeter across the battery terminals when trying to start , if it falls below 12v it is goosed ... time to replace

if you don't have a meter have it tested at the garage,

my guess it's goosed

But you will pay top dollar for the battery and they will fit the battery they make the most profit on.

Did you need to code the battery with the van?

I don’t think so (buggered if I know 🤫) had a call of the tracker company ,explained situation to them other than that I hope I’m good to go🙏

If you have start/stop on your vehicle the battery will likely need to be re-coded with the new battery in place otherwise the stop/start may not work as expected.

Just had quick butchers to see possible cost. first need to know what size to fit options seem to be 17,19,20,100?
As with all number plate systems my model is not Recognized "Fiat Rapido" a 2.3 2017 Ducato. (still on original)

019 is what I fitted to my 2017 Ducato.

Same one we fitted to our Ducato earlier this year after the previous 4yr old Varta gave up the ghost.
Actually I'm wrong - I was going to buy that one, but whilst 'considering' options, the price rose by about ~£40, so I ended up buying an Exide Premium locally, for about the same price as the Yuasa would have been from one of the big online battery suppliers.

Unfortunatley my local independent battery place now exclusively stocks one mid-range brand, except by special order, so whilst they can get specific batteries if needed, they're no longer competitive on those brands as not doing the volume, and you've still got to wait a few days as per an online order.

Yes, same size was needed in our 2013 (X250) Ducato.

I paid £105 from Halfords (with trade card) for the Yuasa cheaper than anywhere else but it was over a year ago.

Good buy, though the trade price would have helped! I think we were looking around £125 delivered initially, before it shot up. Ended up at Euro Car Parts, so purchased/collected/fitted same day.
