St. Mailleraye sur Seine..anyone been or there

We are considering a few days there but are a bit concerned about ground condition as it’s mostly grass. Has anyone been recently or is there now? What are the ground conditions?

La Mailleraye-sur-Seine. Lst time we went there was market on in the town and we couldn't get to the Aire.

We have been there a few times, although not for a couple of years and it's fine, even in January

It can be boggy if there’s been a lot of rain along the front, the last time we were there there were some gravel areas along the back area but it depends how busy it is whether you get one.

Arrive Monday to Thursday and just before or after the 2 hour lunch period for the best chance in our experience.

Very good alternative non boggy about 5k down the river same side next to playground and offers you possibility of money saved going on wine.....or beer

We were there for two nights 25/26 April this year. We managed a spot on the hard standing without issue.

The grassed areas varied from soft to no problem. Up towards the Borne seemed softest on the grass. There were a few Coach Built MHs on the grass and none seemed to have any problems.
There were a couple of deep wheel marks but no sign that anyone had had trouble getting on or off.

Most were pitched on the left as you entered the Aire, behind the wall.

We were there on the 8th june and parked on the grass on the bank. It was firm and we reversed off easily

Just up the hill behind the aire there was a small campsite we used when the aire was packed.

We were there a few years ago,we arrived late and saw a nice grass spot next to the river.
As soon as I pulled on I realised why it was free,and had a job the next day trying to get off it.

Very peaceful (except for the parade of old tractors which has just gone past).

Boulangerie, supermarché and decent restaurant (if that's your thing) just up the road (there's even a public WC a short walk away).

Decided to stay another night - even if there is nothing much to do...

Apparently our neighbours arrived a week ago - for one night!

A great aire and Brits favourite. It used to be free but now charges 10€ pn last time we were there a year ago.

We are here now too. Our friends tried to get on this lunchtime but the entrance machine is broken and won’t let anyone in!

Saw the tractors this morning. And a parade of classic cars followed us down the quay when we returned from our bike ride this morning.

We stayed for 1 night; now 15 euros. Lovely outlook, but we left on a Friday which turned out to be market day and the way we drove in was closed.

We were there in mid May and the charge was the same we have always paid, i.e. about €6 per night.

Don't know if it changes in high season but currently €7.50 per 24h, including taxe de séjour for two.

Wouldn't accept Nationwide debit card but Barclaycard credit card worked fine...

The payment machine/card reader was working at the end of May. No problem with MasterCard payment,

It works but I needed to use my backup credit card as Nationwide debit not accepted.

Think we were there that day too, or maybe the day after? Just make sure the machine gives you a code for exit. We didn't get one and had to raise the barrier manually.
