Are you still in the same place?
I went through Netheravon yesterday, you know the signs as you enter the village say 2Netheravon home of the xxx xxx" but that has been painted over what is Netheravon the home of?

hi Andrea, how are you?
yep still at Netheravon and sign should say :
Home of the Red Devil’s parachute team. Someone vandalised the signs and awaiting new
ones
There are plans also for a 5.5 million Royal Artillery Museum. No one is particularly keen on it as they reckon there will be 250,000 visitors per year and weekend live firing, with no improvements to road infrastructure from A303 ?

Moving on to Tarifa on Friday not a long trip aiming to stop at Camping Rio Jara, it’s right next to the beach and nearest site to town.
Just walk across a small bridge and you are on a massive beach and can walk in to town??
Some good birding to be had as its right on the migration routes?
Gave Seve our Spaniel a clip yesterday as he was looking like a fluffy teddy bear

Arrived at Rio Jara yesterday in lovely sunshine and got settled in, went up to the bird migration center just above Tarifa town. Some lovely views from there and also good walking along the coast past a lot of the old coastal gun emplacements guarding the Straits.
A nice view of Morocco although a little misty this morning. Not to bad a photo with iPhone?

Had a fair drop of rain last night but got up to wall to wall sunshine this morning although a little chilly 12.5°, walked along beach this evening towards Town of Tarifa.
A couple of pictures with Morocco in the background?

Hi all nothing much to report at the moment weather has been pretty grim wet and cloudy so not a lot of birding being done although we did visit wetlands and spot a flock of Spoonbills, when up to bird observatory along the straits this morning lots of Gannets migrating int the Med and spotted a couple of Dolphins feeding.?

Weather still a bit grim but managed to get out this morning over to Bolonia above the Roman ruins, spotted a few nice birds, Blue Rock Thrush, Ring Ouzel and a beautiful Stonechat?

We arrived late this evening at Camping Cabo De Gata, and just to let anyone know that’s interested they are up and running again after devastating floods in September all the pitches had to be dug out and relayed as there was a thick covering of mud over everything they even have concrete roads between the rows now and toilet blocks all refurbished. Will update further as we find anything else.? temperature reached high 20s on our way here hope it stays like that???

Loving your trip Alan
Thanks Andrea my posts are a bit patchy as there is not always new things but I will keep posting as long as there is anything worth letting everyone know about and Cabo is such a lovely place although not everyone’s cup of tea.
Glad you’re enjoying it when are you out and about again??

Moving up to a site near Tabernas on Sunday it’s a bit unkempt with spotless minimal facilities but in a good spot up in the mountains near the film sets Fort Bravo but great for exploring the area nice and peaceful. Here are couple of photos of the immediate area:
