Speeding on M6 Sunday 15th December

If there was nothing showing on the overhead gantry then there would be hundreds of drivers who will have received a speeding charge. I would be asking the police if that was the case, which would suggest the gantry was not displaying the speed limit.

The other side of the coin so to speak, is for regular users of the M25 southern section at rush hour, especially when the overhead gantry states 40MPH, with me sat there almost stationary with hundreds of others thinking...As If!
Have to say at this point though, for most of us, average speed cameras are great in helping to maintain a steady flow during busy times on motorways, unless there is an incident of course.

Other recent discovery/question (pardon Pun) are Range Rover drivers all dicks?, they seem to drive, park very bullishly,so as to upset everyone around them, total disregard to posted speed limits even through average speed camera sections. How come they think they can get away with doing 60 in a clearly marked 50, why do they really have to always be in the wrong lane, and have to carve in just before the slipway junction on every motorway?
I Mean to say...they are making us BMW drivers, look like road angels;) or are they ex BMW drivers needing an even bigger presence on the road to look even more stupid.

They will send You a photo to prove the allegation if You request it.
I asked for a photo when I was driving at a nudge over 30 in Caergwrle a few years ago.
Cracking photo, clear as a bell received of Me and Mrs Machzone.
I did an £80 speed awareness course. Longest 4 hours of My entire life.

My Mate, (sadly died from cancer 4 years ago) freely admitted he slept through most of one!.

That is one of the reasons for asking on here to see if anyone else has received a penalty notice

My friend has received notice of a possible speeding charge. Police are alleging he was doing 51mph in a 40 zone between junctions 7 & 8 heading north on M6 on Sunday 15th December at 1.15pm. He is adamant there was nothing showing on the overhead gantries indicating a reduced speed limit and to be honest he does stick to the speed limits at all times.
Has anyone else received notification or even challenged a speeding ticket

John
Same as me glad I'm not the only 1 sunday around dinner time was going 59mph in a 40 between the same junctions complete bullshit was no signs or warnings and it was a Sunday so it's pretty much dead

UPDATE
My friend has been in touch with “someone” who was looking at a photo of his van and gantry showing 40. They are posting it out tomorrow using 2nd class postage but we leave home on Saturday bound for Portugal & Spain for 3 months
He still has to reply stating who driver was and then they will decide whether it’s a Speed Awareness Course or a fine and points

So it was actually showing 40mph then I dont even recall it saying that makes no sense I just sent a letter off asking for proof so we'll see what they say I guess but if it was I must have been blind lol

I've also asked the highway England company for the variable speed limit on that day and the set time
