Speed limit when towing a toad

Is that why you can’t have a toad in Spain? Lnb said there kit is legal there as classed as a trailer.
As someone who has been "pulled" (twice) by the Guardia Civil, for so doing. Believe me they are wrong!. I won`t bore the Forum with the issue. It`s been done to death, but whilst it should be the case that it is legal (as at Tourist) that you can so do, try getting that past the Spanish Plod.

Nothing to do with that, the general public are not permitted to tow one vehicle behind another unless it is on an actual trailer, it doesn't matter what the A-frame company says as they are talking rubbish - they are trying to sell the kit so it's not in their interests to say otherwise - just try asking them if they will pay any fines you get due to using it in Spain and see what happens.

Which is Spanish Domestic law, and applies to Spanish citizens and or residents. As a TOURIST, Like the Germans used to do bringing wide caravans over on holiday in the UK, before the UK made wide caravans legal, It is "permitted".

The issue is, that the Police and Judiciary in Spain, do not think they should "permit".

But as I said in my earlier Post. It`s been done to death. And changing it is not going to happen.

The problem is that AFAIK it is not legally recognised in UK law even though it is permitted to be done (ie no-one that I'm aware of has every been prosecuted/challenged about it legality), so the Spanish don't have to recognise it as 'legal' for UK tourists. If it was made fully legal in the UK then it may be a different matter.

IMV we should abide by the 'rules/regs/laws' of the country we are visiting.

A case was put forward by the police some years back over an R-V towing. The case was dropped by the cps. The DVLA themselves think it legal but will only advise that this could change they do give only opinion. Not law.

The legality of the wide caravans did not stop the Dutch an Germans bringing the here?

Forget all this rushing around...... Keep the stress levels down...

If towing, set the cruise control to 60 on a motorway and toodle along. Simples!
