Having driven 1000’s of Km on German autobahn’s in my youth and enjoying it with memories of pull over headlights in my mirror whilst doing 100mph, Now I try and use non motorway routes, more relaxing and not a pothole to be seen

Pulling out and overtaking with a UK motor home on the Autobahn, whoever was going so slow as to cause you to overtake?

Um errr ... I don't think my Rapido PVC can cruise at 130 mph, even if I wanted to. I was in my previous 2.5 V6 Vectra that had a claimed top speed of 142 mph.

Interestingly (for me anyway) the Vectra achieved 32 mpg at those consistently high motorway speeds. On UK motorways, at around a slightly naughty 80 - 85 mph it averaged 29mpg. That car was designed to be driven at speeds above 90 mph where it was most efficient. An Opel with a Vauxhall badge; Autobahn car.

I remember doing 110mph on the Autobhan, a Porche came by and the wife said he made look like your are stationary.
That was 40 years ago Autobhans are so busy now not plesent any more.
