Yes I think that "overthinking it" just about sums up my outlook.
Perhaps "suck it and see" is more appropriate in this circumstance.

Real experience of solar gain along east and south coast of Spain in the depths of winter please?
We try to avoid campsites as much as possible but have done very little winter touring so have some concern about being able to do without hookup over extended periods. We search out dumping locations every 3 or 4 days and if that happens to be a campsite never hookup.
We have 300w solar, 100amp battery and compressor fridge and never see less than 95% full here in the UK even in poor weather.
Is it doable?

My compressor fridge alone uses approximately 35amps per 24hrs so a couple of days no sun you gunna struggle

Yes Martin, before.........but I got chucked out.
I had to run the gauntlet for some misdemeanor, and one guy hit me in the face with his knotted neckerchief. I promptly decked him in return and got slung out.

Look after that stick, as your not getting any younger.

And everyone must be aware that during the winter period campsites could, I repeat, could be full and the same applies to Camperstops too...
