South of the Mosel(le)

Our neighbours left yesterday - so all is smiley and happy here. We have a British couple in the pitch next to the empty one, so we’ve been happily chatting to them. (Don’t worry - I will pass on a MHF card to them!)

We cycled into St Tropez yesterday and were met by a wonderful site. As I’ve said, the huge gin palaces have gone, and were replaced by a quay full of classic yachts, with a couple of ultra modern ones in between.

Check out the beam on these babies...!

With the departure of the huge gin palaces, the whole place has a different atmosphere.

When you walk to the end of the quay and look back, you can actually see the quayside through the yacht masts.

Such a better picture than this ... taken in 2015 ...

You wouldn’t have got such a lovely background as this 4 years ago!

However, I can see there’s a lot of wasted space with yachts though ...!

Grimaud today - will it be closed yodeli Frankie? No matter if it is, the sun’s still shining and our neighbours have flown, so alls right with my world ...

We left the sunshine of St Tropez today, and having only driven as far as a Gordes, we still had it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 15 days at Les Mures, chilling on the beach, and cycling to St Tropez, Ste Maxime and Port Grimaud.

We attempted to cycle to Grimaud itself, but the cycle track disappeared onto a really busy road, which started to get steeper and steeper, so we gave up and turned left for Cogolin instead!

We’re parked up at the Aires outside Gordes itself, and will wander in for a look tomorrow (apparently, there’s a geocache in the village DavidG58 Bev - what does ‘magnetic’ mean)?

We walked down the hill from the Aires to take the obligatory photos of Gordes and the Luberon valley - just beautiful...

I just hope the Beau Ville won’t be a mixture of expensive shops and restaurants.....

Magnetic are literally that, look for something metal it will be attached to that ?

We did one on a bridge about 200’ above a river in Spain , be careful how you put it back ?

Haven’t posted for a few days as we’ve been travelling, so nothing to report.

Nothing to report now, apart from our second visit to Amiens Cathedral where - Anthea M - it all began!!!

We had a drink on the side of the small waterways where in years gone by, the local people brought their vegetables grown on their allotments to sell in the Centre ..

Amiens is a lovely city.

I have been put off of geocaching DavidG58.

We looked for the magnetic one in Gordes. The hint was ‘Cabinet Medical’. I couldn’t think it would be in the defibrillator cabinet, so I guessed it was attached to the sign for the said Cabinet Medical.

We walked back to the sign and searched it thoroughly - nothing.

I then noticed two small fence poles laying on the ground under the sign, and lifted them, to find a taped up, very small package underneath. I had begun to unwrap it when Clifton said - are you mad? That could be needles, drugs, poo - anything!

So Bev - please tell me - should I have continued to unwrap said package? The hint said it was magnetic, but there was nothing attached to the sign.

Luckily, we visited the church after...

So, I think I need lessons in geocaching Bev - although after my attempts at card making, you may be a reluctant teacher ... ?

We are now heading for Boulogne and lunch, before heading for our last stop and Home tomorrow ....

See you didn't leave the soap, tut tut.

I think you found the right thing, but it probably had a clip on top like a film canister (the 35mm things we all used to use) ? the tape would have been to keep it sealed or to hold the magnet in place

We have found some really clever ones, but also wasted ages and not found anything ? Bev has now found over 300 ?

We will chat when we meet next

No David - it was a small, flat package, approx 2” x 1” of dubious appearance!

Looking forward to the chat!

Safe journey home. I may have a teaspoon of yours. I will return it NYE (y)
We will just have to share our other one until we see you Phil! Safe trip home x
