Sound bar 12v

Thanks all it’s on my birthday list now

Lenny... when you say head unit do you mean the original radio unit in doner van? If so my unit auto shuts down after about 5mins and I have not found a way to disable it.. so to keep listening I would need to leave ignition on..something I am not prepared to do.

Some people by pass the Ignition and wire direct to live - like mine , but u need to remember to switch it off

We also sell Avtex TV's but, unless there are some major updates PDQ they will loose the market.

When was the last time anyone bought a TV that wasn't Smart for example?
Coincidently, just bought a cheapo Bush freeview play/smart TV box for our bedroom projector to give it the features of a smart TV and for £42.99 its not bad. It has a 12v adaper so will run in a motorhome and although it doesnt mention anywhere, it also has wifi so you can connect to a hotspot or your phone.

I bought my avtex tv & sound bar together at last years Oct MH show
although the sound bar sounds much better in sound quality, the volume is no louder than the tv ,
I have to run it on full volume , so a bit disappointed with volume UNLESS it’s just me
& there is a way to increase the volume ?

Send it back to avtex sound should be loud!!

If, Avtex has manufactured the sound bar to overcome the sound quality of their TV's you would think as a manufacturer that their "bespoke" sound bar would work with their own TV's

Good point but most smart tv’s not as smart as say an amazon fire stick

Any photos of how you fixed the sound bar in place above tv , please

I went with @SMB’s recommendation and made a bracket so hangs of the stand mount.
Pleased with the sound and got it for £21.59 from Amazon, delivered in 2 days.

thanks for that ,just for the record ! , I phoned them & they said there is a way to increase the volume
but it is not in the manual , I followed their advice but didn’t work so they collected & returned it to me within 3 days (FOC) they had to do a software update , all good now

Interesting?. We have the same sound issue with the T-V we inherited from the last caravan, the sounds are louder at the rear of the `van. Are the "Cheapo" bars on say E-bay or Amazon worth the money? I am NOT looking for pure hi fi here, just some improvement of T-V listening quality in the `van. My Hi Fi is on the Sony unit in the front. In our case it would have to mount above the T-V as there is no space below.

We notice a difference with the one I’ve just bought, we like it because it’s not to base heavy. If when using it you unplug it the tv sound is very tinny compared.
The only thing about it is that your supposed to charge it when not in use, I’ve watched tv for 4 hours 2 nights running without it needing a charge and i have had it beeb for low battery and then I plugged it in tv usb and charged as I used it and it was fine, just not sure what long term affect this would.
So for me I’m quite pleased with it at £21.56 delivered via Amazon.

Intersting, as I have a battery operated door bell/camera that has the same instructions. "Charge when not in use", ie; take the batteries out and charge them!. Mine has been permanently wired by a USB charger for nearly a year now, and is still operational.
But thanks for that information What is the one you Have?.

This one and I used the onscreen voucher hence price difference

I’ve run a cable from the TV sound out socket to the Motorhome radio Aux socket so we enjoy full surround sound from the TV through the Motorhome speakers in the bedroom and cab area. No need for a sound bar.
( I’ve actually taken it from the Skybox sound out so the sound is fully synced on both TVs which are connected to the Skybox by HDMI through an HDMI splitter)

Can't you get an FM transmitter gadget to transmit the TV's sound to the van radio? There is a 3.5mm stereo jack unput on them for mp3 players ?

I just use a good quality Bluetooth speaker wired to the headphone socket on my Avtex tv, and it works really well. Certainly much much better than the really poor Avtex sound.

Yes you can, but I like hard wiring things! And I think if I added another wire I could get the video on the radio screen too

Like Manic I actually got one of the Eivotor sound bars from Amazon for my Avtex TV, works great for the money. Got fed up of not being able to hear TV when using my Sky HD box, especially when it was raining.

I’ve also got a aux cable run to close to my van stereo( only needs the shorty cable to be fitted when needed) but I prefer the sound bar because the sound is coming from the tv, as it’s mounted underneath.

Bit the bullet over the weekend. Result:-

Do you find the sound better.
So sat an watched a short part of "The Sweeney". Plugged and unplugged the sound bar. the clarity seemed much better. I have the s-bar on full volume, and use the T-V volume to modulate. so far, so good.(y)

Horses for courses I guess, but when we got our (first) motorhome we got an avtex TV and a mini Bose portable Bluetooth speaker. We hardly ever use the TV but having a portable speaker is quite useful. When we do use the TV it's usually with some films loaded on to a usb stick ... so don't even bother tuning the Freeview.

I've just bought a projector and 40 inch portable screen from amazon.es and have to say I'm impressed with it. Apart from not squinting at a 16 inch TV screen the picture and sound is very good (and loud) so the soundbar might now be relegated to playing music. I can connect all my media players including my firestick and I've ordered a 120 inch portable screen (basically a sheet) for use in the awning when the Euro Championships and rugby are on. Roll on June.

What sort of resolution from the projector? Is it 1080p and would you recommend the one you have? I'm interested but I don't really know where to start.
