Anyone planning to travel needs a different route, here's one I used couple of years ago, nice aire on French side for the highest tourist train in Europe.

That's our favourite route, don't like the French side of the Somport.
We came back Bielsa in early March, some hairy hair pins glad we were following 3 HGV's.

I've always thought the hairpins were easy with plenty of space, one reason we like that route is because we have hardly ever seen an HGV on it.

We followed 3 , yes wide road but a bit chilly so had to take care. Looks like we may have to go round the outside in January

The Bielsa Tunnel is going to be closed for a few weeks, as there's been some landslides on the French side and the road needs repairing. It's been unseasonably wet for the last couple of weeks

They have just put in a new road for the bottom section from Sabiñanigo leading up to the Bielsa tunnel

it has been raining the whole year in France

I did the Somport and Portalet from Jaca on my motorbike, the scenery on the Portalet is stunning. Oh and it’s bike heaven too. 😎

I bet it will drag on longer than 6 months .they have been widening & reinforcing the road around the Castle that is built in to the mountain for the last 18months & still haven't finished when I was on the way back.
