The iPad quotes issue is a portrait v landscape issue.
You can not get the “ icon in portrait mode with any three vertical dots selection.

Yes as the screen size gets smaller you have to decide, what to show, what to hide behind the hambuger and what to remove entirely

I advocate keeping the quote tool over all the text choices

Yes but on very small screens if you have too many they obsure the editor

I’m using an iPad mini.............maybe the ads are a little more obvious with the new format, who knows.
Unfortunately now I’ve noticed them I can’t unsee them , grrr

Don't you just love all this new and improved stuff. It's like wandering into your familiar supermarket to find they rearranged the stuff on the shelves and now you don't know where anything is and end up getting all sorts of stuff you never knew you needed instead.

Oh!! Because on the iPhone you get more icons with the hamburger in Portrait than you do Landscape.
I don't know how you're trying to differentiate the number of icons, but the hamburger menu that is missing the quote has 5 icons.
Others are allowed 8

I’ve lost the ability on my iPad to use: -

add url & add photo.
But attach file still works - differently.

I changed the iOS on the iPad just in the last hour though.
The iPhone is OK with either method.
How is your problem manifesting?

Jim If you quote something such as the below, how do you easily delete it? Before you could just place your cursor to the right of it and press the back-space key but now it just takes you into the actual 'quote' box ... also you could delete it in the attachments list below the post, but I can't find a way to do it easily now.

Most of what you Sade there just went right over my head url iOS iPad my problem seem's to be my lack of ability to under stand computers wtf is a GIF a Url a iOS
Those things that look like tadpoles terrified to touch them encase the fiking commuter implodes.
It's taken me ages to learn how to put picks up in the first place just getting used to the last changes and bugger me all change.
Not moaning that's progress i just cant keep up with the progress just got rid of my stem driven phone and have a new to me one.
And cant work out half of it my son put all my contact in it one press on the screen and they have gone disapeard never to be seen forever lost

I see you can do partial quotes, this might always have been there but this is the first time I've noticed it so perhaps this is new.

To do it just highlight some text in a post you want to quote. Then select "quote" in the box which opens. Now go down to the reply section at the bottom of the page and select "insert quote" and only the text you highlighted is inserted as a quote.
