Hi all, a regular old chestnut here. I have my chosen panel, and plastic fixing brackets kit. However, my only concern is the back of the brackets are of a hollow cross section, so not a full footprint. of the brackets.
I'm probably being over cautious but do think the addition of some extra side brackets wouldn't go amiss, [ see photo of mock up]. The panel is 1400 x 700,mm approx. My ally brackets have full footprint of 150 x 75mm.
Is this just overkill, or a sensible add on? T.I.A.
Regards. Mike.

Well, despite my best efforts to make a pigs ear of it, the panel feels to be welded to the roof with no sign of any ill affects of my over zealous use of weights to hold it firmly in place whilst curing. Getting the tape off the roof was a trial, but now done and all up and working.
I noted most people used mini trunking for routing the cables to the entry gland, but once again I found a lonely furrow by using cable spiral wrap, and then sticky back cable stays around the whole. I put some of these on a building to hold a cable in place 25 years ago, and they are still in place!
I've temporarily connected it to block 6 of the 119 EBL, when my two pin lock and mate clip arrives I'll move it over to block 7 next door, leaving 6 free for my folding panel hook up, if ever needed.
Many thanks for input from the forum.
Not including labour, it's cost about £1.75 per watt. panel, controller, cables, brackets, sundry items.
Regards.
Mike.
