Solar novice!

I wouldn't get bogged down in technicalities... go on your shakedown and see if it meets your needs.

Just be aware of depth of discharge of your battery. Take it too low and you'll damage it.
If your panel has been up there for awhile it will have lost a bit of it's rated efficiency.
Same for your battery, how old is it.
Mine are six years old and perceived wisdom is they're at their useful life.

As a motorhomer who has (and is) spent (spending) a long, long time living "off-grid" I am always surprised when it comes to the threads on Fun on the topic(s) of solar/chargers/inverters/batteries/wire sizes/ multi-meters and so on.

Post after post after post on the supply side of the "problem" but very little on the demand side.

Perhaps, just perhaps, if one finds one's system isn't delivering enough lekky for one's needs, consideration should paid to the possibility of reducing the need.

More panels, more batteries, thicker wires, b2b charging, upgrading the alternator...

...why not reduce the ironing, the use of the coffee maker and the micro waving?

Talking to one's other half (or in my case one's self) or reading a book or watching the birds and the bees, or the neigbours putting up their awning, doesn't need many watts amps or volts.

How goes your solar farm installation?

How goes your solar farm installation?
All four panels are lashed up temporarily and despite not being in the best position/orientation produce loads of leccy... but the A/C really does suck power out of the batteries fast. Tested it for three hours the other day... luxury!

Am waiting for a local carpenter to pop down with the aim of having the panels fitted to a proper frame... but this is Portugal and here we all take our time!
