Solar/Inverter/Batteries

lorger , I bet you wished you never asked!!😁😁 anything to do with electric blows my mind, it’s the devils work:doh:

Yes I feel like sticking my fingers in a socket now 😂😂

I’m ok with basic electrics but all this stuff does confuse me especially when there doesn’t seem to be one definitive answer as a lot seems to be opinions, I was hoping 5 or 6 folks would come on and say the same thing 😂😂

I think we’ll just stick to no hairdryer unless on hook up and buy her a few wigswith money saved 😂😂

Just add a 0, book an extra night and leave it with Eddie to sort it for you Gerry, it’s only money 😁

Then you can properly tell Sophie you can’t afford for her to get married , win win 👍

I’m afraid there is not one simple answer as we all use our vans in different ways, OK a decent mains charger might be right for some people or even a different time of the year, we have had the van on the drive for a week now playing nicely, it does get warm inside so I put the air-con on the inverter and run some amps out, next day it’s full again from the solar, I have not plugged it in at home and don’t envisage needing to.

We use a hairdryer travel type 1200w with an inverter and 2x110Ah flooded batteries and 400w solar with no problem. Typically only used for a few minutes a day by both of us, yes I have hair too. We even use an electric kettle while travelling to avoid heating up the interior on a tea/coffee break. Things are not as bad as they seem. Only works while there is sunshine but if there isn't it means we are in the wrong place and need to move pronto.
