So today I should be making my way down the M74 on to the M6 for my first overnight stop at Crossfells campsite Penrith. Then down to the tunnel and then a three-month trip through Europe up into Norway across to Finland down to Poland and back home. However, what I am actually doing is replacing my garage roof. Why am I doing my garage roof well ask the Chinese.

Hi all, we should be at the Peterborough show with MoHo fun, and tomorrow travelling home, and Monday on the Ferry from Harwich. Sadly none of this will happen because somebody in china ate a Batburger.

We should be getting the van ready to drive to Portsmouth tomorrow to get the overnight crossing to Le Havre before a relaxing drive down through France to Cambrils, Catalonia.

Instead I will be gardening, gardening and then some more gardening

We should be touring the UK trying out the off-grid stuff we've just had fitted to our van before we venture overseas in it..........instead, I am stuck in Chad, Africa, on a shut-down oil rig (eight weeks here now) and my wife is trapped in Australia visiting her Mum.............but at least we're healthy and do have things to look forward to, unlike some poor buggers..................God bless the health services.

One good thing about England at the moment is that the weather has been fine and we have a small wood almost on our doorstep ... but I know where we would rather be!

Management always tells me I am too organised. Not so this year because we have only missed one planned weekend so far. Apart from two more weekends later in the year we were not planning anything else. We intended to leave things as and were we took a fancy to. Obviously that plan has gone a bit adrift with the current crisis. Hopefully not for not much longer.
