So much scrolling

But scrolling up and down the threads is my daily exercise. Now I have no hope of losing my rather excess rotundness :worried:

Just found that nice.

One problem on the phone & tablet (Android 10 & 9) when you click on an alert it takes you right to the bottom of the thread, so if someone has quoted you you have scroll back up to try and find it, can be a right pain on popular threads.

It's designed to take you to the the particular post you are being alerted about, After that you're on your own '\

On iPad (where I happen to be) the post I get is the one that matches the alert I clicked on. 🤔
I can move around in this “so much scrolling” thread in to the three different places as shown in this screenshot:

Which hasn’t ruled out an Android issue...

alerts also OK on Amazon Fire tablet.

Going to the start of a thread is the behaviour after catching up with a there's changes.
E.g. You goto the newest post of a thread from What's New then later go back (before a newer post) and you'll be at post 1, iirc

I'm sulking again ... the lovely lemon sherbert yellow of the unread alerts has been changed to blue ... :crying: I liked that nice bit of 'sunshine' ...

You should be rejoicing it's now working properly on Android.

This is on my laptop ... I have a soft spot for the yellow colour ... I had a lovely Fiat 126 Bis which was that colour and loved it ...

Looks like the alert highlighting as reverted to the default :(

Jim so the brighter highlight was a test/temporary?
Did it have an impact on site performance having a high-contrast highlight for alerts?

Is there a quick way to go back to the what’s new page but return to where you left off.
If for instance, I read a thread from the start with 5 pages, I then have to go back to the next thread using the back button. (iPad), instead of going to next thread in one click.
what’s new button goes back to the very start so I could potentially miss threads

Jim I'm still having problems when clicking on alerts. The reaction appears to be completely radom between taking you to the post or the bottom of the thread.
Using Android 10 on phone & Android 9 on tablet.

It will always take you to the precise post it is alerting you for. Except when you've already read that thread, then it will take you to the bottom.

You kept that quiet. :xrofl:
It's a right pain as I like to use to get back to a point in the thread that I've already looked at.

In which case click on the same alert you did originally, or a previous one if you know which is the one you want.

But then it takes to the bottom of the thread not to the post.
