Exactly my point in # 28It’s legal upto 7.5tonne. What is worrying is that some people are driving motorhomes around and don’t know the law.

Point taken chaps....to be honest, being an owner driver with a 44t tractor unit and 45' trailer, I've not ventured out into the 3rd lane for many years except when I'm over 9'6" wide, and roadworks dictate I have to straddle lanes.I'm not... far too many people out there driving about totally oblivious to the rules and regs and law appertaining to the vehicle they are driving.
Outside lane, caravan (trailer), highway code?
Not at present it ain't!You know what they say...every day is a school day
I'm trying to redeem myself here![]()

I second that. Spent this morning in Cromer, Blickling Hall tomorrow and Sheringham Park on Tuesday.Well I am really pleased I’m away, in Norfolk. Just been sitting outside in rather dull but warm weather at one of our regular spots. No traffic jams or heavy traffic. Site booked for Monday and Tuesday and again Friday and Saturday, bring it on.

Most of us have bought a house but not many are experts on the law regarding propertyIt’s legal upto 7.5tonne. What is worrying is that some people are driving motorhomes around and don’t know the law.
Your point being??? You won't kill anybody driving your house up the M6 because you don't know the law on house property.!!!!!Most of us have bought a house but not many are experts on the law regarding property

Thats because they don't know what payload means and are so puzzled by that everything else is ignored. Nobody on here though. It’s legal upto 7.5tonne. What is worrying is that some people are driving motorhomes around and don’t know the law.
Nope, because a motorhome is not a goods vehicle..........have you never seen an 12t rv whizzing up the fast lane at 70mph?In my defence, looking at the link posted, the second point describing vehicles not allowed in outside lane states:
a goods vehicle having a maximum laden weight exceeding 3.5 tonnes but not exceeding 7.5 tonnes, which is required to be fitted with a speed limiter
Surely I'll get some brownie points for being partially correct?
The hard shoulder is clear wouldn’t it have been quicker to use thatThe video shows cars moving aside to allow a Police car through so obviously some sort of problem up ahead.
Over 3500kg are Private Heavy Goods vehiclesNope, because a motorhome is not a goods vehicle..........have you never seen an 12t rv whizzing up the fast lane at 70mph?
For rfl only, for all other purposes a mh is a mh. 70mph all 3 lanes on a uk mway.Over 3500kg are Private Heavy Goods vehicles![]()

Ever thought about voting for a Conservative ?
No.....but I wasnt suggesting a moho was a goods vehicle, I was explaining (or excusing) my spurious initial suggestion.Nope, because a motorhome is not a goods vehicle..........have you never seen an 12t rv whizzing up the fast lane at 70mph?
2o year ago I used to drive a 7.5 tonne truck that was plated at 7490 kg, which meant it could do 70 mph, and use lane 3, happy daysIt’s legal upto 7.5tonne. What is worrying is that some people are driving motorhomes around and don’t know the law.
