Thats dated April 12th, is it a forecast, or a wind up
We have the Toyo Observe winters too and toured the Alps for 5 weeks over Jan and Feb and didn't need the chains. They were brilliant. Noticed the better handling in colder weather. However, if you have the space then definitely chuck in the chains. We are crossing to Dieppe on Monday then meandering down to Spain. I've been contemplating whether to take the snow chains or not as I have winter tyres.
I think the answer now is to take them.
Mine haven't seen any snow yet but noticeably more sure footed in the wet.We have the Toyo Observe winters too and toured the Alps for 5 weeks over Jan and Feb and didn't need the chains. I’ve traveled from Roscoff following a coastal aligned route and used the N roads stopping off at various points of interest, the last an overnight stay at the Megalithic Centre just outside Carnac. Absolutely incredible to see over 4 k of standing stones. We are crossing to Dieppe on Monday then meandering down to Spain. What a little ray of sunshine you areDon't worry the crap weather is on its way
We got caught out yesterday in very heavy snow about 20kms from St Etienne couldnt turn round either due to heavy snow either side of Rd terrifying couldn't see very well either. We have been away 2 months very disappointed with weather had all 4 seasons, started off good but went downhill end of February. But, we weren't at home bored out of our minds its been an adventure. Back home soon oh yeah it's gonna rain for a week at leastWe arrived on Wednesday and it has rained and snowed ever since. Very very cold. Currently in the Loire valley on one of the Camping Car Park aires plugged into the mains and waiting for it to pass over. We had to stop for a while on the way down as visibility was dangerously low in heavy snow. Can't believe it! This wasn't the plan at all.
You won't be missing a lot. It's mostly ice in the morning and slush in the afternoon. Ski 10 to 2 then long (very) long lunch! We are off to Les Deux Alpes For the 5th time. We stay at Champ du Moulin in the village of Venosc below. It’s a fab campsite. We take the gondola up to L2A and then it’s only a short walk to the main lifts. Sadly I have had thumb surgery so just spectating and relaxing for me this year.
Fresh snow due so shouldn’t be too bad. It’s our 5th time, so used to conditions and school worker here sadly so not a lot of choice of timings. You won't be missing a lot. It's mostly ice in the morning and slush in the afternoon. Ski 10 to 2 then long (very) long lunch!
If they were in the UK, they would have an electric fence around them, armed guards, a Macdonalds, be catagorised as a National Monument and the National Trust would charge at least £50 to veiw them from a safe distance.the last an overnight stay at the Megalithic Centre just outside Carnac. Absolutely incredible to see over 4 k of standing stones.
Good luck on that crossing. Last Thursday we arrived at Dieppe nice and early for a Friday 05.00 sailing to Newhaven. My sons wedding was on Saturday so no question we wanted to get back to blighty. We are crossing to Dieppe on Monday then meandering down to Spain. I've been contemplating whether to take the snow chains or not as I have winter tyres.
