Smart gearbox, which is the one that WILL be towable

I see where you are coming from however now i have swopped cars i have to swap my trailer too as the aygo wont fit as its longer so next trailer will have to be 12ft minimum to make your theory work that also means im entering the larger / heavier world of trailers
and yes i do need an A frame Uk. and a trailer too EU
Travel in eu will always be deciding factor on buying a trailer or not i think

So if you need to get a larger trailer are you selling the small one you can no longer use

Yes the Smart trailer with fitted Motor mover will be on sale as soon as I can get pics and make sure battery is ok should be it has 2 x small solars mounted on battery box also at the mo it has a 8ft box trailer parked on top of it
I will be looking at buying or swapping it for a 12ft tilting type

I tow a 4 .2m tilt twin axle trailer for our Skoda Fabia Auto with also motor mover and have no issue with towing at 60 mph with no stability issues .

Stability is never an issue, going over weight is, i imagine a trailer that size is plated circa 3000kg if not a bit more
and its the plated weight that counts not whats on it:doh:

Last campsite we stayed on in Spain had a lot of car trailers parked off site. Large number of Smarts nipping around with [ D ] on the number plate. Did see one with [ UK ] on and he had his trailer on the pitch.

Actuals are used for overloading for construction and use offences and plated weights are used for driving licence offences .

Catches a few out doesent it

Empty trailer that is plated high, will bring a conviction, IF they stop an empty one that is. A van going over a bridge empty will get a booking, even if empty weight is well under the bridge limit.

Interesting,

I am looking to replace the current "A" framed Punto (manual) and have been trawling to see which "Auto" might be the better choice. Need room though to take a Mobility Scooter or a Wheelchair, which the Punto does, (just). But that rules out another Smart and I suspect the Toyota too?. Any one tried to get a Folder into the likes of the P107 etc?
