Small private site

not being funny but when you go to your butchers and bakers and they say that’s ten pound please, do you give them £15 every week and say that’ll tide you over...?

if I went around paying over the odds for half a service I’d be skint....?
I'm not talking about paying over the odds just the same as before

In reality any furlough payments will stop once the site is re-opened as well as any grants so the owners may actually be better off some cases staying closed until they can get enough income to cover costs and make a return that beats the furlough and grant schemes.

If it is considered prudent to only fill every other pitch for social distancing and to keep the facilities closed for safety reasons then rates may well need to be adjusted.

If that means that the pitch charge doubles at the same time as facilities reduce then you have a choice, each person will have to make that decision based on their own thoughts and personal circumstances.

On the issue of kicking full timers out or letting them stay, I'm appalled by the number of motorhomes and converted vans packed in county lanes etc in my area.

I'm a landlord and at the start of all this the government made it very clear that tenants could not be evicted, I simply don't understand why that right wasn't also passed to full timers and any site owner should be ashamed of basically making people homeless at such a time.

It’ll be a different story in a couple of years, everyone moaning that pitch fees are costing too much and site owners making a fortune.....?

people will be back to shouting “Rip-off UK”...?

Part of the rip off Britain thing is down to the cost of doing business in this country. Because everything cost more and the cost of all the regulations etc. business is more expensive here. That is why most of us go to France and Spain as often we can

You are of course right, there are lots of lovely and beautiful places to go in the U.K. it’s just that in my case I’m paying a lot of money to just park up, wherever I go U.K. or abroad I have paid to be where I want to be and I seriously don’t mind paying but sometimes I just can’t help seeing that mug in the mirror and looking out of the window at the owner rubbing he’s hands together with a grin...

I can’t help comparing to being parked up with a sea view in the warm sunshine with all great facilities for around €15 a night...?

I mainly use cs sites, a lot of them are about £15

At the end of the day all the sites are businesses we need them they need us. If we don’t like the price we don’t go there. Hard times for everyone. Let’s just get out there when we can and support them and enjoy ourselves. (y)

Exactly, we have no trouble in supporting small businesses, as we all should do

There's an element of Rip off in France /Spain the difference is the UK businesses tend to abide by the regulations .France is ridiculously expensive and campsites in Spain are going that way .only my opinion ?

@Daveymac

Where is your site ?
Kent I presume ?
If so, I'm happy to come as soon as you open.

As long as you can provide Blue water, Green electricity and Black water disposal and Grey water dumping facilities then I'm happy.
WiFi would be a bonus

I don't need showers, loos, washing up facilities for now.
